MANILA, Philippines – Sisi Rondina was in high spirits when asked about her response to Brooke Van Sickle's recent compliment towards her.
Last Saturday, Van Sickle revealed she's in awe of Rondina, saying that she's "phenomenal and amazing" due to her high-leaping abilities despite her "small" height.

The Petro Gazz mainstay also said that she observed Rondina's grit, determination, and never-give-up mentality while watching the tapes.
But for the Choco Mucho stalwart, her fellow Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference MVP is "way better."

"Ang masasabi ko rin sa kaniya [Brooke Van Sickle], kung ano 'yung sinabi niya sa 'kin, mas sobra pa siya do'n," Rondina shared at the sidelines of the press conference for the upcoming Rebisco Volleyball League 2024 National Finals.
"Siyempre, masaya para sa 'kin na gano'n 'yung nakikita niya sa paglalaro ko."

Rondina also bared that she and Van Sickle have communicated, with the latter asking for tips to jump higher.
"Nagka-chat kami niyan, eh. Sabi niya kung ano daw ginagawa ko para tumaas 'yung talon ko. So sine-sendan ko naman siya ng mga videos, 'eto 'yung mga ginagawa ko,'" the 5-foot-6 Cebuana added.
"Ine-English ko naman ah," Rondina also quipped. "Ito 'yung ginagawa ko, sana makatulong sa 'yo. So 'yon, nagpasalamat din siya."
Although, it was Van Sickle and the Petro Gazz Angels who emerged with the win in their duel, 25-20, 26-28, 25-21, 25-16, at the PhilSports Arena.
Rondina said the loss was an opportunity for them to learn, also asserting that competition in the PVL is now "unpredictable."
"'Yung sa laro naman namin, talo. Tanggap naman namin. May mga natutunan kami do'n na mai-improve pa namin sa mga susunod na games namin," she said.
"Grabe na 'yung volleyball ngayon, lahat talaga ng teams, I mean lahat ng mga players, sobrang unpredictable talaga ng mga mangyayari."
