MANILA, Philippines – Petro Gazz star Brooke Van Sickle hailed fellow Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference MVP Sisi Rondina after their duel on Saturday.
The Gazz Angels emerged as the victors, rallying past the Choco Mucho Flying Titans, 25-20, 26-28, 25-21, 25-16, to capture their first win in the 2024-25 All-Filipino Conference.

Van Sickle made sure to tip her hat to Rondina, whom she said has "grit and determination."
"Sisi’s just Sisi. The first time that I ever played her, I just remember and I know other players have said this too, but she’s just phenomenal. She’s amazing," Van Sickle said, who dropped 34 points to lead the Gazz Angels.
"It’s just crazy. I remember she went hit a ball and I was sitting there like how’s someone so small jumping so high. It’s just impressive. She’s just a powerhouse. That girl has grit, determination," she went on.

They have been scouting Rondina, Van Sickle said, and there's one thing she observed--the 5-foot-6 Cebuana doesn't give up.
"I’ve watched all the games when scouting. Even watching like all the last conferences like she doesn’t give up. Save maybe she might have a slow start, she doesn’t care. She’ll just come back. She’s just that kind of player, hats off to her like I super respect her," Van Sickle said.
Rondina then led the Flying Titans, putting up an 18-point performance, while logging numbers on the defensive side of things with 13 excellent digs and six excellent receptions.
"Today’s not their day but their gonna come back bouncing back so definitely we’ll se more of them for sure."
