This changed when big tech companies began leaving chargers and other accessories out of the box, claiming it was an effort to reduce e-waste and cut down on packaging.
Whether consumers liked it or not, it changed the way we buy tech.

That’s where UGREEN’s latest collaboration with Honkai: Star Rail comes into the conversation.
The UGREEN's Honkai: Star Rail collection includes the MagFlow Air Magnetic Power Bank, the Nexode Air Charger, a retractable USB-C cable and the FineTrack Mini 2 smart tracker. The Yao Guang-inspired artwork lends each accessory its own identity, and the limited-edition collector’s box adds extra appeal for collectors.
But even without the Honkai: Star Rail branding, the collection still stands on its own.
The lineup includes the MagFlow Air Magnetic Power Bank, the Nexode Air Charger, a retractable USB-C cable and the FineTrack Mini 2 smart tracker.
MagFlow Air Magnetic Power Bank
The MagFlow Air Magnetic Power Bank quickly became my go-to charging companion during several days of testing, especially while commuting.
Its built-in USB-C cable meant I never had to dig through my bag for a separate cord, while the MagSafe-compatible magnetic attachment held securely enough for me to continue using my iPhone 14 Plus without worrying that it would slip off. Wireless charging is surprisingly fast too compared to what I used before.

When I switched to the wired USB-C connection, charging speeds were noticeably faster. It took my Samsung Galaxy A56 from around 20% to nearly full in about an hour, making it the better option whenever I needed a quick boost before heading out again.
The power bank warmed up during fast charging, as expected, but it never got uncomfortably hot during my testing.
Nexode Air 65W Charger
Chargers are probably the least exciting gadgets to review.
After several days with the Nexode Air 65W Charger, I understood why UGREEN made it one of the highlights of the collection.

Instead of leaving home with whatever battery percentage I happened to have, I could plug in my Samsung Galaxy A56 while getting ready and gain a significant charge in a short amount of time. Charging from around 20% to full took about an hour, making it one of the quickest chargers I've used recently.
Its compact design is another welcome bonus. Despite its small footprint, the charger never felt like it was sacrificing performance.
Nexode Retractable USB-C Cable
I didn't expect the retractable USB-C cable to be one of my favorite products in the collection.

After a few days of use, I appreciated how quickly it became part of my routine. Pull it out when needed, let it retract when you're done, and your bag stays noticeably tidier. Supporting up to 100W charging is a nice touch, but the biggest win is surprisingly simple: I no longer had to wrestle with a tangled cable every time I reached into my bag.
FineTrack Mini 2
Setting it up with Apple's Find My network took only a few moments, and I appreciated not having to download yet another companion app. Once paired, it blended seamlessly into Apple's ecosystem, making it easy to locate through the Find My app.

One thing worth noting is that the FineTrack Mini 2 is designed exclusively for Apple's Find My network, meaning it's compatible only with supported iPhone and iPad devices.
The built-in 110dB speaker was loud enough to hear from another room, while the reflective detailing made it easier to spot after I placed it in a dimly lit space during testing.
It's the kind of product you don't think much about until the day you misplace your keys and other essentials.
Verdict
After several days of testing, I barely thought about the collaboration.
Instead, I found myself appreciating the little things: not having to pack a separate charging cable, topping up my phone before leaving the house instead of charging overnight, keeping my bag free of tangled wires and knowing I could locate my essentials if I misplaced them.
Those are small conveniences on their own, but together they make a noticeable difference.
It's easy to forget how much accessories have changed. What were once throw-ins bundled with a new smartphone have become products we carefully choose, compare and rely on every day.
UGREEN's Honkai: Star Rail collection reflects that shift. The collaboration gives it personality, but it never overshadows the experience of actually using the products. Long after the novelty wears off, it's the practicality that remains.
