During the August 2 episode of “Kapamilya, Deal or No Deal,” Lucky Star pair Abdul and Marsy were introduced as the chosen celebrity players for the evening after the Lucky Wheel landed on their assigned briefcase, number 14.
While deciding which briefcase they wanted to bank on, birthday celebrant Marsy recalled that the number 6 had appeared to him in a dream the night before the taping. Coincidentally, on the day of the episode, Jannah Alanise—who was assigned briefcase number 6—was the first Lucky Star to drop by the tandem’s dressing room. She offered Abdul and Marsy a box containing six doughnuts.
The comedic duo took these encounters as signs to choose briefcase number 6, deciding to let go of their original briefcase.
In a snap decision, Abdul and Marsy began their opening round by checking what was inside their assigned briefcase. The atmosphere in the studio quickly grew tense after briefcase number 14 revealed the amount of ₱100,000. Unfortunately, another six-digit cash prize was uncovered in their second briefcase, removing ₱500,000 from the money board.
Despite these early setbacks, Abdul and Marsy made a strong recovery in the same round after eliminating ₱25 and ₱1,000. They also avoided going home as “Pisonaryo” after successfully finding the briefcase containing the ₱1 amount.
Thanks to Abdul and Marsy’s impressive performance, the Banker’s offers continued to increase, with the final offer reaching ₱560,000. With the ₱125,000 and ₱1 million cash prizes still remaining on the money board, the Lucky Stars trusted their intuition and decided to see the game through until the end, turning down the Banker’s deal.
The risk they took ultimately paid off as the studio erupted in celebration after their chosen briefcase was revealed to contain the game show’s coveted ₱1 million jackpot. Making history as the first millionaires of “Kapamilya, Deal or No Deal” this season, Abdul and Marsy tearfully expressed their gratitude.
