Ever since it premiered last June 22, avid viewers have eagerly anticipated each episode of "Coco Martin’s Sigabo," looking forward to the next adventures and battles of our beloved primetime hero, Gabo, compellingly portrayed by the one and only "Hari ng Aksyon sa Ating Henerasyon," Coco Martin.
Throughout his fights and dangerous missions so far, Gabo has never had to face them alone. By his side is his dependable and gregarious group of friends who willingly support him and help him to the best of their abilities. Tagged as "Tropang Gabo," the adorable squad is comprised of Ipe (Bassilyo), Bong (Smugglaz), Daboy (Mammoth Estroso), Binoy (Nikko Natividad), Tolits (Jerald Napoles), and the only rose among the thorns, Tekla (Sue Ramirez).
Despite the dangers they have faced in their missions so far, there appears to be no stopping Tropang Gabo from standing by Gabo’s side and joining him in his adventures, no matter how perilous they may be.
In the latest episodes, viewers saw them trespass into the NCIA impounding area to retrieve the motorcycle Gabo used the previous night while carrying out his mission. They had to recover it, as its rightful owner—a customer at his father Rudy’s (Joey Marquez) auto repair shop—was already redeeming it.
Recently, CCM Film Productions gave viewers a glimpse of how the thrilling impounding area sequence was brought to life through a behind-the-scenes exclusive video released across its social media platforms. The feature also included fun interviews with the members of “Tropang Gabo,” offering fans a closer look at their experiences while working on the show.
With “Sigabo” consistently gaining strong viewership both online and on free TV, the cast shared that the show's success was something they had already anticipated. They recognized how the people, especially Coco’s loyal supporters, had been waiting for his return to another primetime series ever since it was announced.
Jerald, Sue, and Bassilyo pointed out that one possible reason behind the strong reception is that loyal Kapamilya viewers and Coco supporters have grown accustomed over the past decade to seeing him in the 8:00 p.m. primetime slot of ABS-CBN Studios’ lineup, following his successful lead roles in the hit series "FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano" and "FPJ’s Batang Quiapo."
"Ako, in-expect ko na 'yon," Jerald said. "In-expect ko na mataas 'yong rating kasi syempre kinasanayan na natin 'yan e, at saka inaabangan ng mga tao kung ano nga ba 'yong sinasabing 'Sigabo'? Ano ba 'tong bagong show ni Coco Martin na siya mismo ang gumawa ng istorya?"
Mammoth, meanwhile, shared how thrilled he was over the hundreds of thousands of viewers who tuned in for the pilot episode, saying that the strong viewership only showed how deeply Coco is missed and loved by many.

Tropang Gabo also expressed how grateful, honored, and proud all of them are to be cast in this production, with Smugglaz commending the brilliance and hardwork of everyone working in front and behind the camera. Thus, he has always been deeply honored to be part of it. Meanwhile, Bassilyo jested that his co-stars were actually fortunate to have worked with him, as well as that Coco was able to help not just old and new actors, but even rats—alluding to the scenes of Gabo at the national correctional facility seen in the first pilot episode.
"Sobrang proud ako kasi para sa akin, napakagagaling talaga ng mga kasama namin dito sa 'Sigabo'—syempre mula kay Direk Coco Martin hanggang sa mga co-actors at syempre sa production," Smugglaz related. "Napakasisipag nila at napakagagaling kaya lahat sila ay parte into. Saludo sa inyong lahat at ako'y honored palagi na maging parte nito."
They then shared their thoughts regarding the production value of "Sigabo," with Sue conveying that above all else, it was what made her the proudest. She enthused, "Excited din ako sa iba pang mapapanood nila kasi wala pa 'yon, guys. As in wala pa 'yon. Katiting palang 'yon ng action at drama at saya na napapanood n'yo. So, marami pa kayong dapat abangan."
She added that the fight scenes were meticulously planned and carefully studied, with an incredible amount of attention and time devoted to perfecting them. Besides, they also didn't cut corners on any scene. According to her, everyone on set poured their heart into the production, and that dedication is clearly evident in what viewers see in "Sigabo."
As Jerald remarked how globally competitive the executions of the scenes are, Nikko supported it by commenting how top-notch the overall production has been, so it really amazes him that the show is being made available to the public for free. With these, Smugglaz couldn't help but look forward to the possibility of them shooting someday abroad
Sue, on the other hand, shared her admiration for the series, emphasizing how impressed she was with its visuals and storytelling. She noted that her appreciation was not merely because she was part of the project, but because the shots were genuinely beautiful and compellingly portrayed the lives and struggles of Filipinos.
"Pinakita talaga do'n 'yong buhay ng mga Pilipino. Kung ano talaga ang totoong dinadanas ng mga Pilipino dito sa ating bansa. Pinapakita po namin 'yon dito sa 'Sigabo'. Malapit na talaga sa katotohanan," she stated.
The behind-the-scenes exclusive feature concluded with Sue expressing her gratitude to everyone who has been faithfully tuning in to the show and continuously supporting the cast. She also shared what excites her the most as Gabo's story continues to unfold.
"Maraming, maraming salamat po. Ito pong lahat ay ginagawa namin hindi po para sa amin kundi po talagang para po sa inyo dahil alam po namin mapapasaya namin kayo gabi-gabi, especially ni Direk Coco Martin at ni Ms. Julia Montes. I'm sure, marami ring nakaabang sa kanilang pagbabalik-tambalan sa primetime! Ako, actually, 'yon ang pinaka excited ako," she enthused.
She also encouraged viewers to continue watching the series since the narrative still has a long way to go. With more chapters yet to unfold, the journey between Team Sigabo and its audience remains far from over.
