Just when many viewers perhaps thought that they were about to see Coco Martin show off his dance moves once again after the online live selling stint of his well-loved character Gabo, the June 30 episode of “Coco Martin’s Sigabo,” took an unexpected turn as he and his friends' brief gig at a gay bar delivered not just laughs, but also a quite intense action while they tried to earn money for the medical expenses of his father, Rudy (Joey Marquez).
Gabo may not have done so himself, as he was hired as a “hosto” or male entertainer after his initial application as a bouncer was rejected, but his new friends Tolits (Jerald Napoles), Binoy (Nikko Natividad), and Daboy (Mammoth Estroso) willingly stepped in to cover for him.
As soon as they stepped onto the stage, Tolits and Binoy—both clad in see-through, shimmering tops and short shorts—immediately entertained the crowd with their sexy dance moves. Daboy, meanwhile, finally living out his dream of becoming a macho dancer, brought a completely different level of surprise and entertainment not only to the customers but also to viewers at home when he joined his two friends onstage wearing the same outfit, complete with a pair of angel wings.
The gay bar scenes may have had viewers laughing, but the fun apparently didn’t stop when the cameras rolled, as seen in the behind-the-scenes photos and video shared by CCM Film Productions on social media that show how equally entertaining the off-cam moments actually were.
In this exclusive behind-the-scenes video, viewers get a glimpse of the filming of the gay bar sequences, where Sue Ramirez, who plays Gabo’s longtime friend Tekla, jokingly shared her excitement to watch her male co-stars Jerald, Nikko, and Mammoth take the stage as macho dancers.
Guest star John ‘Sweet” Lapus, who amused us with his portrayal of gay bar patron named Mama Franny, meanwhile, also couldn’t contain his exhilaration and jitters as he prepared for scenes that blended comedy with action. He imparted his delight as well over the show’s lighter, more comedic direction, noting how it differs from the action-drama format of “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” and “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,” at a time when action-comedies are gaining popularity.
Fellow guest stars and stand-up comedians Tonton Soriano and Pepay Aguilar likewise expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to portray bar patrons and Mama Franny's friends, Amel and Mikey.
For Pepay, sharing scenes with the "Ang Hari ng Aksyon sa Ating Henerasyon" brought back memories of working with him in the 2013 Kapamilya fantasy-action series “Juan dela Cruz,” where her character was shot by his. As Tonton jokingly wondered what would happen this time, Pepay quipped that Coco might use a bazooka instead to get rid of her.
Well, those who were able to catch the June 30 episode, however, know that no firearms were involved in their encounter with Gabo. Instead, the action unfolded when he finally lost his temper and took on Mama Franny, Amel, and Mikey one by one after they mocked his friends—who just offered to help him—as well as subjected him to groping and lewd remarks.

When asked why viewers should tune in to “Sigabo,” Tonton said the series tells a story that resonates with everyday people, much like Coco’s previous projects. Pepay, meanwhile, said that aside from bearing the unmistakable “Tatak Coco Martin,” the series promises a diverse range of stories backed by top-notch production and standout performances. The two comedians then jokingly added that their presence in the cast is another enough reason to watch the show. Aside from John, Tonton, and Pepay, veteran actress Janice Jurado also appears in this video, who plays the feisty and outspoken bar manager Mama Grace.
