The ABS-CBN Studios exclusive kicked off with the word prompt “everybody,” prompting BGYO JL to groove to the iconic opening of the Backstreet Boys’ “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back).” When the next prompt, “sing,” was revealed, all five members joined together to perform the heartfelt ballad “Sing For You” by K-pop legends EXO in perfect unison.

Refusing to miss the chance to promote their own music, BGYO leader Gelo immediately broke into their song “Gigil” when the word prompt “ganda” appeared. Later in the game, main rapper Mikki made sure to point out that, aside from One Direction’s “Night Changes,” BGYO’s “Forever Tonight” also featured the word “night” in its title.

The game then shifted to more heart-wrenching tracks. When the word prompt “good” appeared, JL sang the wistful lyric, “I’m way too good at goodbyes,” from Sam Smith’s hit breakup anthem “Too Good at Goodbyes.”

The word prompt “smile” drew different song choices from the group. Gelo belted out the soaring chorus of Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars’ “Die With a Smile,” while JL sang the opening lines of “With a Smile” by OPM rock band Eraserheads.

As one of today’s rising P-pop acts, BGYO didn’t shy away from including OPM tracks in their answers. When the word prompt “masaya” appeared, JL took a nostalgic trip back to 2015 by referencing Curse One’s R&B hit “Masaya Ako Sa’yo.” The group also paid homage to Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez by jamming to her classic hit “Araw Gabi” after the word prompt “araw” was revealed.

Yeng Constantino’s “Ikaw” was the first song that came to BGYO’s mind when the word prompt of the same name was given. When “damdamin” appeared, the group broke into a collective sing-along, attempting to hit the high note from Cup of Joe’s chart-topping hit “Multo.”
