Season 4 of “Everybody, Sing!” is indeed off to a great start as its first-ever “songbayanan”—residents from the flooded community in Calumpit, Bulacan—took home the P1 million jackpot prize!
Despite not being able to perfect any of the five main rounds and the special round they played across both weekends, the group still managed to accumulate 97 seconds—just enough for them to guess the titles of all the 10 songs in the ultimate jackpot round called “Everybody Gues-Sing" during the May 3 episode.
It may have only taken them a few seconds to figure out the titles of the first, third, fourth, ninth, and 10th songs, yet the group struggled with the rest, particularly with the eighth track. After multiple attempts, they finally got it right through resident Leslie, who was able to correctly identify that it was “Pangarap Lang” by Yeng Constantino, with only five seconds left on the clock.
The studio erupted in celebration as host Vice Ganda confirmed the correct answer. She expressed her happiness over the group’s hard-earned victory, which she and the entire “Everybody, Sing!” team had hoped to bring to the community.
Aside from conveying her happiness and pride to them, she also imparted a sincere reminder for them, saying, “Gusto kong ipaalala sa inyong lahat na mga taga-Calumpit, Bulacan na dahil sa baha, araw-araw natatalo kayo. Kailangan ipaglaban n’yo ang mga sarili n’yo. Kailangan tulungan natin ang isa’t isa. Pero ang pinakamalaking tulong ay nasa desisyon ninyo. May mga taong sumalbahe sa inyo, huwag na kayong pumayag, please.”
In addition to the P1 million jackpot, the Calumpit “songbayanan” also brought home P60,000 from the Saturday jackpot round “Singko Blangko,” played by their four “repre-sing-tatives” alongside “Blood vs Duty” star Bela Padilla.
