Filipinos are known worldwide for many things, including our love of music and singing and our unmatched spirit of communal unity, or the so-called “bayanihan.” In recent years, we have witnessed these two quintessentially Pinoy traits come together on national television through ABS-CBN Studios’ community singing game show, “Everybody, Sing!”

Airing from 2021 to 2024 over three seasons, the show featured groups of 25, 50, or 100 players from a single community, collectively called the songbayanan. Rather than competing against one another, they worked together for them to not only receive P1,000 each but also to help their team win the whopping jackpot prize in the end.

Through the years, we’d already seen various songbayanans comprised of ordinary Filipinos seeking joy and a little relief in life take part in the contest, which also celebrated their hardwork and invaluable contribution to the society. Out of the 78 communities featured on the show, only 17 succeeded in winning the jackpot prize.

As “Everybody, Sing!” makes its much-awaited return this coming May 2 and May 3, with Asia’s Unkabogable Superstar Vice Ganda still as the fun and fabulous host, let’s revisit through this feature the winning moments of the songbayanans whose teamwork, determination, and love for music earned them perfect scores in the final round and the ultimate prize.

SEASON 1

The first season aired from June 5 to October 10, 2021. During the season, 30 communities competed, with seven winning the ₱500,000 jackpot. Due to pandemic restrictions, each episode featured only 25 contestants—all wearing face shields for the entire game. The games introduced that season were “Sing in the Blank,” “PicSing a Broken Song,” “EngliSing ang Lyrics,” “TagaliSing,” “The ChooSing One,” “ReverSing,” and “Lip-Sing.”

Before the season ended, a three-week “100 Songbayanan Special” aired from September 25 to October 10, 2021, showing the original format with 100 contestants per community. Out of the three songbayanans featured, only the group of January 2020 Taal Volcano eruption survivors won the ₱2 million grand prize.

Community pantry organizers (P500,000)

Massage therapists (P500,000)

Teachers (P500,000)

Bus, Jeepney, and Tricycle Drivers (P500,000)

Call Center Agents (P500,000)

Factory Workers (P500,000)

Taal Volcano Eruption Survivors (P2,000,000)

SEASON 2

Aired from September 24, 2022 to February 19, 2023, the second season featured notable changes from the first. As pandemic restrictions in the country eased, the number of participants increased from 25 to 50, and Vice Ganda was able to interact with players through transparent barriers for social distancing.

A new mini-round called “The Singko Segundo Challenge” was played before the jackpot round gave communities a chance to add five seconds to their jackpot timer. At the same time, two new games named “A-B-Sing” and “AYU-Sing Mo” were also introduced. Out of the 26 songbayanans featured in the second season, only five won the P1 million jackpot prize.

Beauticians (P1 million)

Bank Employees (P1 million)

Gasoline Station Employees (P1 million)

Bartenders (P1 million)

Lovers and Exes (P1 million)

SEASON 3

True to its “bigger than ever” promise, major changes were made in the third season of “Everybody Sing,” which ran from June 3, 2023 to February 11, 2024.

The original format was brought back by increasing the maximum number of participants to 100. Anyone affiliated with or part of a songbayanan was welcome to audition as a contestant by sending an email or direct message to the show’s official social media accounts.

From P500,000 in the first season and P1 million in the second, the jackpot prize was raised to P2 million, with the potential to exceed this amount based on the songbayanan’s total earnings in the jackpot round.

Various celebrity singers also appeared every week either to perform duets with or substitute for the resident band’s vocalists or to assist Vice in giving clues for the answers during certain rounds. Apart from the nine original games featured in previous seasons, two new games were added for this season, namely, "Lights, Camera, Act-Sing" and "Sing-Tunog," along with a mini round called “Golden Time Bonus,” which allowed the songbayanan to add ten seconds to their jackpot timer by correctly guessing a bonus song. The jackpot round was split into two parts, providing contestants a chance to win more than P2 million.

Season 3 saw five songbayanans hit the jackpot:

Fathers and children (P2,140,000)

Manila Fire Survivors (P2,200,000)

Garbage Collectors (P2,200,000)

Pharmacists and Pharmacy Employees (P2,080,000)

Divisoria Stall Sellers (P2,040,000)

In the highly anticipated comeback of “Everybody, Sing!” viewers can look forward to more music and fun with Vice and the songbayanan, as the show continues to unite communities through entertainment. Amping up the show each week is the special guest co-host joining the Unkabogable Star, alongside a lineup of celebrity guests and singers who will not only bring joy but also help the songbayanan win bigger cash prizes.

Are you as excited as us for the Season 4 kickoff of “5”? Well, you better not miss its first two episodes this Saturday (May 2) and Sunday (May 3), 8:30 PM on ABS-CBN sa ALLTV2, A2Z, Kapamilya Channel, iWant, and Kapamilya Online Live (KOL) via the ABS-CBN Entertainment YouTube channel.
