Throughout the course of Jalil (Gerald Anderson) and Datu Rahman’s (Jaime Fabregas) perilous escape from the container yard where Lara’s (Bela Padilla) henchmen are violently hunting them, Usman (Ejay Falcon) quickly communicates with Marcus (Richard Gutierrez), who will be returning to Manila from his investigation at Isla Damai as soon as possible.

As they speak, Usman truthfully informs Marcus concerning Datu Rahman’s abduction as well as his ongoing search for him. Just moments after the call ends, Usman happens to navigate through a certain area with loud gunshots capturing his attention.

Moving closer to the exit, he eventually spots Datu Rahman with a masked figure seemingly rescuing him, who is actually Jalil (Gerald Anderson). Before the father and son could truly flee, Usman sternly stopped them, he and Jalil pointing guns directly at each other.

Taking into account that they are fellow Muslims, Jalil begins to plead with Usman about letting them be free, pointing out that they need not kill each other and that he recognizes how compassionate Usman is as a police officer.

Remaining skeptical, Usman then sharply questions Jalil regarding his connection with Datu Rahman. Hearing the firm demand in Usman’s tone, Jalil turns to lower his weapon and at last shows his face, whom Usman only recognizes as Major Allan Espina.

Instead of carrying on to portray his false identity, Jalil explains who he really is to a shocked Usman, clarifying that Datu Rahman was framed as the perpetrator of the sudden gun-related violence, which involved the edited CCTV footage of Concendido (Kobie Brown) and Vinluan’s (Emilio Daez) deaths.

Moreover, Jalil also discloses his awareness of Marcus and Usman’s lack of trust with their NLEA colleagues, which is why they continued to hide Datu Rahman in order to protect him from more syndicates while they were investigating the truth of the Isla Damai massacre and the deaths of Task Force Alpha members.

When Jalil mentions that the blame can easily be linked to them as Muslims, it was after that deeply relatable point that Usman lets them go, with tears pouring out of his eyes.

Will Marcus, Jalil, Usman, and Datu Rahman work together? Find out in “Blood vs Duty,” streaming on iWant and airing weeknights at 8pm on ABS-CBN sa ALLTV2, A2Z, Kapamilya Channel, and Kapamilya Online Live (KOL).
