Jamilah embraces Jalil upon his return to Isla Damai
On the day that Jalil finally made his return to Isla Damai after training the newest members of their Muslim community’s Civilian Defense Service Unit (CDSU) for three months, Jamilah warmly embraced him. As he noticed more of Jamilah’s relieved yet concerned expression, Jalil reassured his little sister that he would always come home.
Jamilah cleverly rescues Jalil from the intense crossfire
During the course of the massacre at Isla Damai, which was actually carried out by an unidentified group rather than Task Force Alpha, Jamilah stealthily retrieved the severely wounded and unconscious Jalil, who had just fought two of Task Force Alpha’s strongest personnel, Marcus (Richard Gutierrez) and Felix (Baron Geisler).
While taking care of a recuperating Jalil, Jamilah was then accompanied by others in their community, all sincerely praying for Jalil’s recovery.
Jamilah consoles a baffled and injured Jalil
Some dreadful and grief-stricken nights later, following the tragic event that took place at Isla Damai, Jalil finally regained full consciousness. Seeing Jalil suffering from pain and confusion, Jamilah immediately comforted him.
Jamilah explains Datu Rahman’s troubling situation to Jalil
Returning home from having witnessed Datu Rahman’s condition in the custody of the National Law Enforcement Agency (NLEA), Special Investigations Division (SID), and Task Force Alpha, Jamilah carefully detailed the circumstances that unfolded when Jalil was unconscious, particularly keeping Jalil’s survival a secret to make sure he wouldn’t be arrested, as was the case with their father, Datu Rahman.
Jamilah fearlessly follows Jalil to Barangay Surga
With the goal of rescuing Datu Rahman, Jamilah chose to follow Jalil to Barangay Surga, where Omar (Edgar Mortiz), a close friend of Datu Rahman, would wholeheartedly welcome them, even allowing Jalil to proceed with his risky plans.
Shocked by Jamilah’s arrival, Jalil tried to push her away, but Jamilah asserted that she can’t grasp the idea of doing nothing. Despite Jalil’s repeated warnings of the dangers ahead, Jamilah kept on voicing her determination to go beyond simply sympathizing with him but to actively assist him since it wasn’t only he who’d lost a family or friends.
Jamilah convinces Jalil about her support for his plans
Shortly thereafter, through a meticulous investigation of CCTV footage from the places where the black van carrying Datu Rahman and his captors were seen, Jalil deduced the possible location where the Datu is currently hidden.
Feeling optimistic with how things were going, Jamilah was eager to get involved, but Jalil intervened again, reminding her once more of the risks. In response, Jamilah argued that even if Jalil were to forbid her from helping, she would still take actions to locate their father, Datu Rahman, on her own.
Jamilah saves a fatally wounded Jalil once more
When Jalil investigated the Dapayan Warehouse in search of Datu Rahman, he unfortunately encountered Marcus, Felix, and Lara (Bela Padilla), three of Task Force Alpha’s high-performing operatives. As he was escaping, he inevitably fought with the three, with Felix giving him a fatal gunshot wound.
Moments later, Jamilah and Omar arrived at the right moment to rescue a helpless Jalil from his pursuers, eventually taking him to Teresa (Susan Africa), Omar’s doctor friend and Marcus’ mother.
Jamilah prioritizes Jalil’s safety
While Teresa was focused on saving Jalil’s critical condition, Jamilah, having a background in nursing, became her assistant. Hours later, they head back to Omar’s home at Barangay Surga, where they witnessed the aggressive outsiders attempting to search the area for Jalil.
Jamilah, Jalil, Omar, and Norhana (Malou Crisologo), only managed to cautiously look through the window, with Jamilah being appreciative of their fellow Muslims’ kindness and bravery to defend them, a much needed unity considering Jalil’s condition.
Jamilah hesitantly allows Jalil to leave
Growing increasingly concerned for the safety of the people around him, Jalil ultimately made the choice to leave Barangay Surga. In spite of Jamilah’s anxious sentiments for her brother’s endangered life, he did not change his mind, prompting Jamilah to hug him tightly, and remind him to take care of himself.
Jamilah vents about her long-held frustrations
At his temporary residence away from everyone else, Jalil is again taken aback by Jamilah’s unexpected appearance, afraid that someone might have spotted her. With a soft tone, Jamilah pointed out that she only wanted to be certain that her brother was eating enough. After a while, Jamilah began venting her frustrations with their circumstances, saying that they shouldn’t be the ones who ought to be hiding, since they aren’t the real criminals.
