This is the promise of Kapamilya Primetime King Coco Martin to viewers eagerly awaiting the arrival of ABS-CBN Studios’ highly anticipated series, “Coco Martin’s Sigabo,” headlined by the actor-director alongside his reel-and-real-life partner Julia Montes, during an exclusive behind-the-scenes interview with CCM Film Productions.
The series marks Coco’s reunion project with the Prime Actress after their beloved tandem has captured audiences’ hearts in several Kapamilya programs, namely, “Walang Hanggan” (2012), “Ikaw Lamang” (2014), the “Yamishita’s Treasures” episode of “Wansapanataym” (2015), and “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.”
“Sobra kaming excited, ninenerbiyos. Alam namin na ‘yong nerbiyos na ‘yon ay para pagandahin lalo ‘yong show na maibibigay natin sa lahat ng ating mga Kapamilya sa kanilang mga tahanan gabi-gabi,” the brilliant actor-director shared when asked about his feelings toward the project.
Together with the rest of CCM Film Productions, the couple has been working tirelessly and pouring their hearts into the series, knowing it has the power to bring joy and inspiration to Kapamilyas everywhere.
“Siyempre kilala naman natin si Coco na tuwing gumagawa ng teleserye, repleksyon ng mga Pilipino. Kaya nga mahal na mahal ng mga Pilipino ang mga teleserye ni Coco. Kaya sobrang excited at sobrang happy ko na mapasama sa ‘Sigabo.’ At syempre, ‘Coco Martin’s Sigabo’ na this time,” Julia remarked.
Coco went on to share how he and Julia would support each other in every endeavor, whether individually or together. Coco and Julia, who playfully call one another “boss,” also conveyed how utterly proud they are of each other, with Julia imparting that it has always been one of her biggest dreams for him to have a teleserye of his own. Thus, she couldn’t be any prouder that it’s now finally coming true, allowing him to once again exhibit his creativity and brilliance in storytelling and conceptualizing scenes.
“Kinakabahan, hindi naman mawawala ‘yon. Pero happy ako kasi sabi ko nga, swerte ako na nandyan siya kasi talagang tutok siya, nakaalalay. Kumbaga, alam kong may resbak ako, meron akong guide. So, mas excited din,” the versatile actress related when asked about how it feels to work with Coco again.
Coco confirmed what she said, explaining that he simply doesn’t want to disappoint Julia, their families, and the audience. So, he’s been keeping an eye on every detail—from her weapons and costumes to her stunts, scenes, and lines—which he also used to do with everybody he got to work with in “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” and “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo.”
Adding to fans’ excitement, it was revealed that CocoJul may share a kissing scene in the very first episode, which idea Coco himself seemingly proposed. He explained, “Alam namin na siyempre, ‘yong mga tagahanga namin lalong-lalo na from ‘Walang Hanggan,’ sobra kaming na-miss. [Kaya] 100% talaga ang ibinibigay at tinotodo namin dito. Hindi namin sila bibiguin.”
