“ASAP” remains as the heart of family-centered Sundays, made extra special last March 8 with the long-awaited stage comeback of Primetime King Coco Martin and Prime Actress Julia Montes for their recently unveiled action-romance project “Sigabo.”
Scheduled to air on March 16 and replacing the beloved “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,” the show instantly sparked excited reactions from CocoJul’s many loyal fans, as well as Kapamilyas who have witnessed the pair’s career progression from “Walang Hanggan,” “A Moment in Time,” “Ikaw Lamang,” “Wansapanataym Presents: Yamishita’s Treasures,” and finally in “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.”
In their kilig-worthy “ASAP” performance, the two exuded their enduring romantic chemistry the moment they walked in with hands intertwined, the gentle piano tunes further embellishing the love-filled setting.
Wearing hearty smiles on their faces, in combination with their coordinated outfits—Julia donning a pink off-shoulder gown and Coco rocking his fancy coat—the sensation of their nostalgic love carried over, bringing back memories of their youthful love team.
Throughout their duet of TJ Monterde and KZ Tandingan’s “Palagi,” the real-life couple would often exchange affectionate looks and would serenade each other. Julia also turned adorably playful in one of the verses, as she teasingly leaned towards Coco for a kiss, who then pulled her in a side hug afterwards.
When it was Julia’s moment to shine vocally, she also pointed at Coco for the lyrics, referring to him as her “favorite person.” From the song’s heart-racing bridge to its slow last lines, the reel-to-real partners completely enamored everyone on set and beyond the screen.
