Taking a break from their daily grind at the market, 50 vendors comprised the “songbayanang haligi ng palengke” in the May 9 and 10 episodes of “Everybody, Sing!” not only for a chance to win the ₱1 million jackpot prize, but also to share their inspiring stories and spread good vibes through their lighthearted banter with host Vice Ganda.
Introducing herself as “Tinda-rella”—everyone’s favorite “tindera” whose beauty vanishes at the stroke of midnight—she kicked off the second weekend of the well-loved community singing game show by inviting again the tandem of Petite and Iyah Mina to join her onstage and the songbayanan in singing the warm-up song “Bongga Ka Day” by Hotdog.
The first “songpu,” or set of 10 contestants, to play the initial round called “Sing in the Blank” hailed from Quinta Market in Quiapo, Manila. Vice fondly recalled that her mother actually used to bring her there to treat her with a hearty plate of special palabok as a reward everytime she received awards in school. The group correctly answered five out of 10 missing lyrics from “The Spageti Song” by SexBomb Girls and Joey de Leon, earning an additional 10 seconds for their jackpot timer.
Meanwhile, the songpu from Agora Market struggled in the “Light Camera ActSing” round as they tried to decipher the clues given by Iyah and Petite to complete the missing lyrics of the Bloomfields’ version of “Ale.” Only two contestants answered correctly, adding just a few more seconds to their timer.
For the Saturday jackpot round called “Singko Blangko,” celebrity guest Kyle Echarri helped the “songbayanang haligi ng palengke” earn extra cash prizes and seconds for the ultimate jackpot challenge. He selected contestants Jenny, Beth, Wilma, and Joy to be the four “repre-sing-tatives" of their community, as they aimed to complete the missing lyric lines from Jaya’s “Wala Na Bang Pag-ibig.” In the end, the group successfully accomplished three out of five lyric lines, with Kyle correctly answering all the parts assigned to him.

“Queen of R&B” Kyla lit up the May 10 episode of “Everybody, Sing!” by serenading the audience with her rendition of “‘Til I Met You” and later joining the Six Part Invention band in performing her viral hit “Hanggang Ngayon” during “The Choosing One” round. Impressively, the songpu from Malabon Central Market scored perfectly, earning an additional 20 seconds for the jackpot timer and ₱2,000 each on top of their share of the final prize.
When it was the turn of the Marikina Public Market vendors, a fun yet heartfelt moment unfolded between Vice and father-and-son contestants Jonathan and John Paul. John Paul’s revelation about being in a same-sex relationship led to a touching conversation about acceptance and unconditional love, with Vice reminding everyone of the importance of parents loving, accepting, and understanding their children wholeheartedly. The group later scored five out of 10 in the “TagaliSing” round while performing Blakdyak’s “Good Boy.”

The last group to play was the vendors from Martinez Public Market in Mandaluyong. Unfortunately, they only managed to get three correct answers out of 10 in the “AyuSing Mo” round, wherein they had to arrange the jumbled lyrics to the song “Laging Tapat” by Jolina Magdangal. Since every point they gained was multiplied by four, 12 seconds were added to their jackpot timer.
With 59 seconds on the clock, the “Songbayang Haligi ng Palengke” faced the “Everybody Guess-Sing” challenge, where they had to identify the titles of 10 featured songs in the May 10 episode of “Everybody, Sing!”
In the end, the community took home ₱60,000 from Sunday’s game on top of the ₱60,000 they had already won during Saturday’s episode. Altogether, the “Songbayang Haligi ng Palengke” earned ₱120,000, which will be shared among all 50 members.
