Aside from joining her good friend Luis Manzano for his birthday celebration, Jodi Sta. Maria also graced “Kapamilya Deal or No Deal” to promote her upcoming film, “Midnight Girls.”
Set to portray a Filipina entertainer working in Japan—a role she previously shared pushed her to channel her inner SexBomb dancer—Jodi became the subject of Luis’ playful teasing. The host jokingly told everyone that she had supposedly requested for an impromptu dance showdown with SexBomb Jopay Paguia-Zamora in exchange for her guesting on the show. Coincidentally, it was Jopay who was assigned briefcase number 19, which Jodi chose to fight for until the end.
Luis went on to share, “Sabi ko, ‘Jodiel, SexBomb Jopay ‘yan.’ Sabi niya, ‘Para naman mapahiya nang kaunti si Jopay.’” Jodi may have brushed off the claim, she gamely went along with the faceoff, with both women showing off their moves to “Ikembot Mo” by the Showtime Baby Dolls.
When asked for her assessment on Jodi’s performance, Jopay—who was clearly kilig with their unexpected interaction—expressed her awe, which prompted Luis to jokingly ask if she was already out of her mind.
Jodi reacted in mock outrage, telling Luis, “Ikaw ha, nagtatanong ka ng feedback. Nagbigay ng maayos na feedback ‘yong tao [pero] ayaw mong tanggapin.”
The host replied with equal playfulness, “Kahit anong gawin mo, proud na proud ako. Kumanta, sumayaw, maghost. Batang-bata pala ako hinahangaan na kita.”
