Not long after Datu Rahman (Jaime Fabregas) is abducted by a number of disguised men, Marcus (Richard Gutierrez) attempts to track down their van but does not succeed. Similarly, Jalil (Gerald Anderson) also rushes to rescue Datu Rahman once more but comes into contact with Marcus, who chases him around the neighborhood.
When Marcus fails to catch Jalil, he eventually runs into a tense Lara (Bela Padilla), also trying to retrieve Datu Rahman, given that she was overseeing the Datu’s transfer to another facility.
In desperation, Marcus quickly alerts Lara of the masked and armed group who grabbed Datu Rahman along with another unidentified individual, Jalil, seemingly participating in the incident.
The moment Marcus begins to persuade Lara to act ahead of all of the others, she interrupts him, reminding Marcus that his current suspension can be easily converted to a termination at the discretion of Director Azuelo (Rommel Padilla).
In response, Marcus furiously asserts that he does not intend to comply with the suspicious rules any longer, considering that they are what killed innocents and his cherished colleagues in Task Force Alpha. Furthermore, he continues to remind Lara that the arrest of Datu Rahman is most likely prearranged.
Lara then assures Marcus that she believes him, which is the reason why she is doing everything she can to protect the Datu. Still uneasy, Marcus tirelessly warns Lara that their real foe is constantly one step ahead, and they’re getting closer to completely covering up the truth about the Zamboanga operation.
In spite of the risks of being fired and lacking allies, Marcus decides on what he feels is right and leaves the area.
Will Marcus and Lara finally team up to track down Datu Rahman? Find out in “Blood vs Duty,” streaming on iWant and airing weeknights at 8 PM on ABS-CBN sa ALLTV2, A2Z, Kapamilya Channel, and Kapamilya Online Live (KOL).
