No one would suspect a resort owner like her to be behind the grueling hostage-taking at La Playa Roja, which ended hundreds of lives. Greta Roja’s (Lorna Tolentino) crimes may have been rooted in her love for her family, but there is no doubt that she can be seen as the real villain behind it.

Here are 15 of Greta Roja’s most unforgettable scenes in “Roja,” moments where she faces fury, plots the siege, and desperately tries to escape the consequences.

1. Magnus asks Greta about their lost money

Magnus (Raymond Bagatsing) confronts Greta about financial matters, but Greta insists that he should focus more on their current situation regarding the siege. Liam’s (Donny Pangilinan) life is in danger as Emil (Joel Torre) forces him into a life‑and‑death predicament involving Olsen (Kyle Echarri). Magnus tells Greta that they need to comply with what the goons are demanding. specifically, the 300 million pesos.

Realizing it would be impossible for them to pay, Magnus grows worried. Greta reasons that the money has been tied up in investments, though in truth she used it to sustain her gambling problems. “Anong alam mo sa finances ng kumpanya?” Greta snaps, shifting the blame onto him. “Ang alam mo lang, magpasikat sa mga tao, magpa‑party.” Her words make Magnus reflect even more deeply.

2. Olsen reveals the truth about Greta and Wendy's secret deal

Olsen confronts Greta after discovering the truth about her secret deal with Wendy (Janice de Belen), where Wendy had to go to jail in Greta’s place, while Greta ran away from her crimes of fraud. Liam and Magnus, stunned by the revelation, press Greta further, with Liam asking if the allegations were true. “Ayokong makulong, Liam. Ayokong mahiwalay sa’yo at sa daddy mo. Natakot ako, hindi ko alam kung anong gagawin ko,” Greta tries to defend herself.

She adds that she attempted to compensate Wendy after her detention, but then lashes out at her, insisting they had promised to keep everything a secret. When the truth comes out, Greta even tries to gaslight Olsen. Magnus urges Greta to apologize, but she refuses, telling him instead to side with their family and not with Wendy.

3. Wendy snaps at Greta

As the victims strategize a plan to escape the siege, Greta refuses to go with them, causing a delay for everyone. Bogs (Emilio Daez), frustrated with the situation, urges and confronts Greta to come, but she remains firm in her decision to stay with her family. “Ma’am, may magagawa ka ba ‘pag binalikan mo sila?” he presses, while the authorities urge them to move quickly.

Growing frustrated, Wendy intervenes and snaps at her. “Ako rin, hindi ko alam kung nasaan ‘yung anak ko. Isipin mo rin ‘yung kaligtasan mo.” Greta, however, takes it the wrong way and accuses Wendy of wishing to leave her behind so she could be with Magnus, because of their previous rendezvous. As Greta continues to refuse, Wendy slaps her and leaves her behind.

4. Greta follows Liam and Magnus

As they leave, the goons move closer to their location. While preparing, Olsen appears. Greta asks about Magnus and Liam’s whereabouts, both of whom stayed behind to fight and distract the armed men. Taking it negatively, Greta questions Olsen, accusing him of purposely leaving Liam behind.

Hindi. Kailangan ko lang unahan ‘yung mga humahabol sa inyo,” Olsen explains, urging everyone to move and evacuate quickly. As the last to walk behind, Greta suddenly takes another path, driven by her desire to follow Liam and Magnus.

5. Greta asks Jericho's help

A flashback reveals the real mastermind behind the siege. Due to her growing financial anomalies, Greta resorts to a grueling decision, hostage‑taking. She asks Captain Jericho Jacinto (Floyd Tena) for a favor to help her out. “Nakipagkita ako para bigyan ka ng proposal. Para makabayad na ako ng utang ko sa’yo.” Later on, Greta draws him into her plan, where she would use the VIP guests of La Playa Roja as collateral.

“Kahit mahigpit ang security, posibleng magkaroon pa rin ‘to ng nakawan. ‘Yung mga VIP guest, kapag dumating sila, hindi biro ang mga alahas nila.” Jericho immediately realizes what Greta intends, shocked that someone like her could come up with such an idea.

6. Greta and Jericho plot the siege

As they continue to plot the siege, Greta and Jericho hold a series of meetings to refine their plan. Aware that the armed men are fully preparing, Greta still doubts whether the hired goons can truly be trusted. Jericho proposes that Greta meet the thieves, but she insists that no one aside from him should know she is the mastermind.

Walang problema, Greta. Greta clarifies, “Malinis at mabilis. Jericho promises everything will go smoothly. But what Greta planned does not unfold as expected, leading her to demand answers. “Ang dami nang namamatay,” Greta worries.

7. Greta's plans towards Wendy

Following this, Jericho explains to Greta that he and Emil had a conversation about what would happen to the ransom money. However, Greta questions why Jericho would do exactly what he promised Emil. “Gaano mo ba katagal kakilala ‘yang taong ‘yan para pagkatiwalaan mo?” Greta asks.

Jericho tells Greta that Emil owes him a favor. Greta lures him further, even urging him to stop and control the siege to prevent more victims from being harmed. “Paano yung dati mong bilin?” Jericho asks, and another flashback ensues, showing Greta asking him for progress on their planned hostage‑taking.

Handa na silang lahat,” Jericho assures her, laying out how everything would happen smoothly and that no one would reach her. “Maliban sa isa. Kapag pumalag siya, bahala na ang mga tauhan mo sa kanya.” This further reveals that Greta had initially planned not to spare Wendy, driven by her rage against her.

8. Greta shoots Jericho

While Greta and Jericho are in hiding, Jericho urges her to escape immediately. “Lahat sila bumaliktad na sa akin. Umalis na tayo dito.” As they rush to move, Liam awaits them outside, holding a rifle pointed at Jericho. “‘Wag kang sasama diyan, Ma! Kasama ‘yan ng mga animal!” Liam warns Greta.

Stunned to see Liam, Greta tries to calm him down. “‘Wag, nandito siya para tulungan tayo.” But Liam insists he saw Jericho talking with one of the goons. “Hindi ako ang kalaban, Liam!” Jericho tries to convince him further, but Liam remains unfazed. Just as Jericho is about to reveal their real connection, Greta shoots him from behind, then runs away with Liam.

9. Threats against Jericho

When the resort siege came to an end, the victims were immediately taken to the hospital for proper treatment, including Jericho. Greta visits him while he remains unconscious, harboring the desire to kill him. “Gusto kong ipagdasal na mamatay ka na,” Greta whispers.

Pero hindi ko alam kung makikinig sa akin ang Diyos. Ito lang ang sinisiguro ko sa’yo, Jericho. Ang baho mo lang ang sisingaw. Hindi ko hahayaan na hilahin mo ako pababa. Walang maniniwala sa’yo kung ilalaglag mo ako.” She whispers firmly, convinced that no one can tear her down, not even him.

10. Greta on Magnus’ affair with Wendy and Ayen

A flashback shows Ayen (Yassi Pressman) and Magnus’ affair taking a toll on Greta, especially when she discovers that they are expecting a child together. This revelation shocks Greta, knowing that Magnus also once had an affair with Wendy. She later asks if Olsen is truly Magnus’ son, since Wendy never revealed the real identity of Olsen’s father.

You’re getting paranoid again,” Magnus says, but Greta reiterates that everything she knows is enough to send her into panic. She then reveals that she knew Magnus was the reason Wendy got out of jail. “Fifteen years ang sintensya niya, naging 10 years. May trumabaho.” Magnus adds that he spent millions for Wendy’s freedom.

“’Yung pagkakakulong ni Wendy, that was all on you, Greta. Dahil pinagsamantalahan mo ang kahinaan ni Wendy.” Greta responds that Magnus probably did it for Wendy because he knew he was Olsen’s real father.

11. Magnus promises a fresh start with Greta

Alalahanin mo ang naging usapan natin. You and I, we will stick together no matter what. We will stay together through thick and thin.” Magnus reminds Greta that there is nothing going on between him and Wendy, and recalls how they promised each other that no one could ruin their family.

No matter what happens, we have each other.” Magnus holds Greta’s hand. Meanwhile, in another room, the person Greta fears will expose her involvement in the La Playa Roja siege, Jericho, regains consciousness.

12. Greta faces Wendy's fury about the siege

After Jericho’s confession that Greta was behind the hostage‑taking, Wendy confronts her. “Walang ibang gagawa n’on, Greta. Ikaw lang.” Greta tries to deny it, but she only meets Wendy’s fury. “Personal ‘yung galit sa’yo ni Emil Padua. Bilang mastermind, hindi mo alam ‘yon? Kami ng anak ko, dinamay mo! Pati tatay ko namatay dahil sa’yo!”

Wendy cries as she hits Greta. While they confront each other, Liam intervenes. “Kung wala kang kinalaman, Ma, wala kang dapat ikatakot.” Greta tries to convince Liam not to believe the allegations against her.

13. Liam confronts Greta

Greta runs away with Liam chasing her. He later asks about what Jericho previously wanted Greta to tell him. “Kung ayaw mong marinig ko ang susunod niyang sasabihin, ‘yung totoo, narinig mo ba talaga kay Jacinto kung saan niya tinago sa resort yung pera at yung alahas?”

Liam adds, “Alam ko na ang totoo. Kailangan ko lang marinig sa’yo. Bakit mo ginawa ’to?” Greta explains that she was desperate for money, which is why she came up with such a plan. Liam reminds her of the lives lost because of the siege. Greta apologizes to him.

14. Ayen's involvement in Greta's financial problem

Greta accuses Ayen of stealing money from them, especially since she is having an affair with Magnus. However, Ayen reiterates that Greta had previously asked her to handle their money. “’Yung pera na kinuha ko, service fee ko ’yon sa pagpapaikot ng mga finances ninyo para matustusan ‘yung pagsusugal mo.”

“Pagbabayaran mo ’to,” Greta responds, but Ayen is not afraid at all. “Babaliktarin ko ang sitwasyon, at ikaw ang sasabihin kong nagnakaw.” Ayen then tells Greta that Magnus would never believe her, and the two end up slapping each other in rage.

15. Magnus assures to turn over Greta

With Greta on the run, the authorities capture Magnus as a person of interest. Magnus tries to come clean, even telling them the possible places where Greta could be hiding. He says that once he learns Greta’s whereabouts, he himself will turn her over.

Meanwhile, Greta, hiding in one of their rest houses, reflects on how Liam confronted her about her crimes. She pleads with Liam, saying she does not want to go to jail. Greta cries in despair.
