Staying passionate with his years of expertise as one of ABS-CBN’s acclaimed Kapamilya actors, Baron Geisler is all set to return to the primetime screen with the forthcoming premiere of the action-packed teleserye, “Blood vs Duty.”
With fervor, he delivered a heartwarming talk on the day of “Kapamilya Chat Grand Fans Day” last March 26 that highlighted each one of the outstanding cast members who delved into their respective characters and their experiences on set.
Discussing his recent string of compelling projects, ranging from “Senior High,” “Incognito,” “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,” and now “Blood vs Duty,” Baron expressed his deepest gratitude to the beloved ABS-CBN executives for their unwavering support towards him. He also emphasized that he has been committed to giving all projects his all and to celebrating the rising Star Magic talents that are performing alongside him.
“I’m here for the long haul. I’m here to make more series with ABS-CBN. I’m in a place [na] sobrang happy and hungry [for success],” he added.
Widely recognized for his fiercely antagonistic roles, Baron then went over the familiar menacing trait found in his role as Felix Domingo. “Felix is dangerous. Ayaw mo siyang maging kalaban or kaaway kasi baka huntingin ka hanggang sa dulo ng mundo,” he explained.
Other than Felix’s hinted vicious personality, Baron also defined him as a gray character, teasing his lovable moments to look out for in the episodes.
Throughout the action-packed sequences, emotionally charged drama, and socially conscious plot, he certainly was enjoying portraying Felix and dedicated himself to continuing to refine his seasoned craft as an esteemed actor. “Every moment, every taping day, I make it a point na may matututunan po akong bago. I’m a student, always listening to my directors, and to my fellow actors,” he elaborated.
Working alongside his equally outstanding castmates, Baron recalled with fondness of how he created a brotherly bond with Richard Guttierez in the days of “The Iron Heart,” as well as “Incognito.”
He followed up with praise for actor-directors Gerald Anderson and Bela Padilla, whom he would often exchange suggestions with during the filming process. “Andoon kami nagtutulungan… Sobrang laki ng mundo ng ‘Blood vs Duty,’” he recounted.
Baron was also hoping to finally team up with Barbie Imperial, who will be portraying Jamilah, the younger sister of Gerald Anderson’s lead character, Jalil. “I can’t wait to have scenes with Barbie, who I think is going to be the dark horse in the show,” he teased.
Besides highlighting the performance he gave, Baron happily carried on reflecting on his close connections with his fellow actors and production team, pointing out that both on and off the set, there’s camaraderie, love, respect, and boundaries, that are dear to his heart.
“Blood vs Duty” is a project under ABS-CBN’s JRB Creative Production, the creator of “Ang Sa Iyo Ay Akin,” “Darna”, “Nag-aapoy na Damdamin,” and “Sins of the Father” headed by Julie Anne R. Benitez and creative head Dindo Perez. It is directed by FM Reyes, Bjoy Balagtas, and Rico Navarro, along with action director Erwin Tagle.
