With a timeless icon and “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend” as her assigned song (which totally fits her name, right?), vocal mentor Klarisse De Guzman advised her to sing in a vintage style, which she described as breathy and with a fast vibrato. The good news was that Dia didn’t need to belt for this number.
On the movement side, mentor Nyoy Volante told her that her 'face card alone' should already deliver impact.
Dia put her coaches’ advice into action as she sparkled onstage looking like a blonde screen siren straight out of the ’50s. Judge Sharon Cuneta noted how much she studied her assignment and how she was able to replicate even the subtle mannerisms.
Ogie Alcasid remarked that “Dia is in the zone,” though he was still looking for that extra push, hoping to see her give just a little more.
Meanwhile, judge Gary Valenciano shared that the moment he learned Dia would portray Monroe, he knew it was a fitting choice, particularly since her beauty aligns so well with the icon. Though he agreed with the panel that a few vocal parts could have been stronger, he maintained that Dia was engaging from start to finish.
