Christian Bables (YFSF Season 3, 2021) - “Cool Down”
It was a total swag-and-chill performance when Christian took on the hit “Cool Down,” complete with James’ signature style, vocals, and cool moves. Later on, Christian revealed that his biggest struggle was capturing James’ laid-back vibe onstage---since he naturally wants to move around, but James is all about being chill and relaxed.
Judge Gary Valenciano expressed how much he enjoyed Christian’s performance, “[‘Yung] attitude, check. Swag, check. ‘Yung style ni James na parang ang astig ng dating niya without even trying---you had that today.” He applauded Christian’s take on the song. Meanwhile, showing more confidence compared to his past performances, Christian impressed Judge Sharon Cuneta, who praised him for being so talented.
“You’re such a humble person---that’s what makes you shine,” Judge Ogie Alcasid told Christian. “I thought today was really remarkable in the sense na magkaiba kayo ni James ng pitch, pero nakukuha mo pa rin ‘yung swag.”
Christian placed 5th at the end of the season.
Marco Masa (YFSF Kids Season 2, 2018) - “Natataranta”
“YFSF Kids” also had its own version of the James Reid heartthrob, with Marco Masa performing the hit “Natataranta.” Marco was all charm and swag, sending the audience into kilig screams! Even after his performance, Marco showed off his dance skills---just like James himself.
Speaking of dance skills, Coach Nyoy Volante acknowledged how impressive Marco was, “Nabibilib din ako sa’yo kasi ang dami mo nang iba’t ibang mga gwapo na ginaya… pero iba’t iba ‘yung brand. Ang galing kasi nakuha mo ‘yung brand ng pogi ni James Reid.”
It was a no-doubt performance for Judge Ogie, who praised Marco for delivering another excellent number that week. He applauded him and the other ka-Familiars for bringing joy and entertaining the audience week after week. Judge Sharon also echoed this sentiment, commending Marco’s talent and consistency.

Sam Concepcion (YFSF Season 2, 2015) - “Natataranta"
Another “Natataranta” performance was delivered by Sam Concepcion, who happens to be a close friend of James in real life. Coach Jed highlighted their friendship in his comment, saying, “It really helped na mag-bestfriends kayo ni James.” James’ distinct nasal vocal technique was perfectly captured by Sam, and even after his performance, he stayed in character as James.
Judge Sharon expressed how excited she was upon watching Sam perform, “You never fail to give whoever is assigned to you your very, very best… You have my respect. I got excited by your performance.” She highlighted how Sam even mirrored James’ movements onstage.
Curious about how he would perform as James, Judge Gary was impressed by Sam’s take, “This one is as real as can be.” He commended Sam for impersonating James so well and delivering a strong performance.

Akira Morishita (YFSF Season 4, 2026) - “Randomantic”
Akira showed us his inner romantic side as he performed the kilig anthem “Randomantic,” with the audience even singing along. His nuances and vocal techniques were on point---almost like James Reid himself was onstage.
Judge Gary V expressed how happy he was watching Akira perform, especially when the ACEs inside the studio screamed and cheered for him. “Ang ginawa mo ngayon… ‘yung kumpiyansa mo, nandun [sa taas]. Kayang-kaya mo si James Reid… you did really well,” he praised.
“Ang gwapo mo naman!” was Coach Klarisse De Guzman’s immediate remark for Akira. She noticed how much Akira enjoyed being onstage, with his energy resonating well with everyone in the studio. “Pina-feel mo sa amin kanina na ikaw talaga si James Reid. Kamukha mo siya,” she said.
Lastly, guest judge Karla Estrada pointed out how challenging it must be to mimic James Reid’s voice, but Akira managed to embody him. “Nakuha mo kasi ‘yung pagiging malamig na buga ng voice ni James Reid,” she noted, adding that Akira even shares a similar physique with James.
