In Mia (Anne Curtis)’s dream, her younger self sits in front of a mirror as her mother Ingrid brushes her long hair. Ingrid retells the story of “Blue Beard,” about a rich man who kills his wives for disobeying him, and warns that defiance only leads to danger. Growing angry, Ingrid accuses Mia of being disobedient by bringing in ‘that boy’ into their house and vows to kill any prince who dares to rescue her.
Mia’s eyes suddenly open and sees a woman in black floating before her. Terrified, she screams, waking Patrick (Joshua Garcia), who rushes into her room and holds her in his arms to calm her down. But Mia insists that he leave at once, terrified that the woman will kill him.
The next morning, Mia skips breakfast with Patrick and Matmat (Carlo Aquino) and stays in her room in tears. Her phone rings with a message from an unknown number asking where the continuation of the witch’s tale is. Still crying, she drifts into that same memory of her younger self sitting before a mirror as her mother, Ingrid, brushes her hair and reminds her to take good care of it because it is beautiful and suits her well.
For the first time, viewers get to see the face of young Ingrid (Empress Shuck), whose beauty Mia has taken after. Ingrid is then shown growing upset when Mia fails to respond to her reminder right away. Back in the present, facing the same mirror, Mia picks up a pair of scissors and moves to cut her long hair.
