It isn’t only Kuantie Melai Cantiveros and “Kuan On One” that have made their comebacks, but also its first guest for its third season, Gerald Anderson, who topbills the newest Kapamilya teleserye “Sins of the Father.”
Aside from talking about the facets of his life that many of us probably are not fully aware or knowledgeable of, such as his life before showbiz and his controversial love life, he also displayed his wit and wisdom in the Dakong Problema segment, wherein he and Kuantie Melai played “Shot-Tubag or Shot-Lag-ok,” which is Kuan On One’s version of the popular game “Sagot o Lagot”.
In this game, the two took turns shooting a pingpong ball into one of the paper cups assembled in front of the opponent. Each cup had corresponding questions that they could answer or opt to take the punishment by having a swig of either vinegar or hot sauce. And among the questions that Kuantie Melai asked Gerald was about being scammed, to which he confirmed that he indeed experienced being totally tricked in business.
Since “Sins of the Father” promotes social awareness about the dangers and signs of scams, as well as gives people more knowledge about this fraudulent scheme in order for them to avoid putting themselves in trouble, he’s more motivated for more people to be able to see it.
Those who got to watch the series ever since it premiered last June 23 surely know that Gerald plays the role of Samuel Trinidad, the son of infamous scammer Mike Trinidad (John Arcilla), who allegedly killed himself for him to be able to get away from his victims. That’s why people are now after him, which has inspired the title and made the viewers think if the son should really pay for his father’s sins.
Gerald went on to expound that “Sins of the Father” is not only just about scamming, but it also has a great storyline because there’s action, romance, family, crime, and suspense. They have excellent directors and an amazing ensemble as well, which includes JC De Vera, Shaina Magdayao, Jessy Mendiola, and RK Bagatsing.
Apart from raising social awareness and working with a great team, another thing that Gerald likes about being part of this project is how the JRB Production Unit and their directors allow collaboration among them. Whenever he has inputs or he likes to do something, they would give him their approval.
“Naniniwala ako rito sa proyekto namin na maganda talaga siya at pinaghirapan talaga namin ito. Kaya ang goal ko o gusto ko, mapanood ito ng maraming tao,” he conveyed.
The Primetime Action-Drama Prince went on to reveal that it’s actually his personal request to the ABS-CBN management to give him projects with social awareness, just like his previous notable teleseryes “Budoy,” “Tayong Dalawa,” and “A Soldier’s Heart,” from which the audiences were able to learn many things about the society.
He stated, “Ayaw ko kasi na puro iyakan lang o love lang o romance lang. Sana ay mas malalim na dahilan o kuwento.”
Catch Gerald on “Sins of the Father,” weeknights on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live (KOL), A2Z, and TV5.
Watch out for “Kuan On One’s” all-new guests such as popular Bisdak artists, influencers, content creators, and beauty queens when a new episode drops every Tuesday on ABS-CBN Entertainment YouTube and iWantTFC.
