“It’s Showtime” launched a new segment called “Breaking Muse,” in which women with oozing confidence, peculiar beauty, and astonishing wit take center stage.
And around a month since its commencement, three amazing and talented women stood out the most among other contestants and were declared the initial set of finalists who will advance to the next round—namely, Verna Joy Tuliao of Baranga BF International-CAA, Las Piñas City; Chuchay Lagria of Brgy. San Isidro, Quezon City; and Joyang Glorioso of Brgy. Sta. Catalina, Pagbilao, Quezon Province.
As we look forward to seeing them again on the “It’s Showtime” stage, let us revisit some of their funny moments with the hosts and judges (a.k.a. “board members”) in this episode of Showtime Toplist.
Let's begin with the first-ever appearance of Verna Joy last July 2, wherein she got us on hold with her stunning beauty as she played with the camera to prove to everyone that she indeed is a certified head-turner. Well, she apparently succeeded as Vice Ganda commended her by saying, “Parang ikaw kasi talaga ‘yong epitome of modern beauty and confidence, and I love it. I super love it.”
In that same episode, while the hosts and Verna were bantering with board member Jessy Mendiola, Jhong Hilario couldn’t help but notice that the figure printed on Vice Ganda’s shirt somehow resembled Verna and her contender, jokingly calling her out for being biased. Being the playful person that she is, Verna posed side by side with the shirt of the Unkabogable Star and mimicked the character’s facial reaction—much to everyone’s amusement.
And the entertainment that Verna had brought to us that day didn’t end there as she also gamely accepted Vice’s on-the-spot acting challenge for her, in which she had to demonstrate her way of rejecting her suitors in a skit she entitled “Paalam Muna Sandali.” Vice couldn’t help but get gigil as Verna initially spoke in English, but the latter later clarified that she would have it in TagLish (Tagalog and English).
It was not only Verna who got to showcase her impressive acting skills on the segment but also her co-finalist Joyang. As the hosts shipped her with one of her fellow barangay members, Joyang confidently unleashed her sassy and sultry side as the Unkabogable Star spontaneously created their story through giving them a series of instructions. It seemed that Joyang wasn’t able to contain her kilig as she suddenly showed off her dancing and kaldag skills.
Meanwhile, finalist Chuchay may have already lost her front teeth, yet she proved that it wasn’t a depreciation to her beauty and personality because of the many things she can do that people with complete set of teeth cannot. Aside from earning the compliment and admiration of Vice, Chuchay was also able to get Jhong mesmerized with her, as she allegedly caught him staring at her. Being the supportive host that she is, the Unkabogable Star asked them to look at each other eye to eye while doing one of her unique talents using her mouth.
Apart from Jhong, Chuchay also had a kilig moment with “board member” and “Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition” Kapamilya 4th Big Placer River Joseph, which surely made his admirers envious and jealous of her. River didn’t just gamely join the kulitan of the hosts with Chuchay, as Vice asked him to compliment her by saying, “Grabe ang ganda mo, ang funny mo, at kuhang-kuha mo ako sa supsup na ‘yan.” Thus, the Unkabogable Star challenged him to kiss Chuchay, much to her kilig and happiness.
And lastly, as the hosts’ conversation with her turned a bit emotional as they talked about her husband and his family, Chuchay made the mood light again through her funny retort to Jhong’s question. When asked by Jhong if the reason why she’s thankful to them is because they accepted her unconditionally, Chuchay ‘sarcastically’ replied, “Bakit, may problema ba sa akin?” That indeed amused everyone, with Vice warning her in jest to be careful with her clapbacks to them.
Madlang people, who’s your favorite “Breaking Muse” contender so far? Watch out for the next beautifully confident, witty, and energetic girlies who will grace the stage of “It’s Showtime” by not missing an episode, Mondays to Saturdays at 12 noon on iWant, Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live (KOL), A2Z and GMA Network.
