They’ve survived one of the toughest physical tasks inside “Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition,” which is the endurance challenge that helped cement their spot in the Big Four. But beyond the grit and perseverance, AZ Martinez and River Joseph also charmed fans with their effortless sibling-coded kulitan.
So for their next bonding moment, Kapamilya Chat dared them to take on a game that would test both their focus and reflexes—with a little dose of chaos on the side. It’s the “Touch the Word” Challenge!
In this game, the rules sound simple until your brain starts playing tricks on you. Spread across the table are colorful flags with mismatched text and background colors (imagine the word "red” written on a green flag). When the host calls out a color, the goal is to touch the word itself—not the paper color. Easier said than done, especially when the pressure’s on and your “sibling” is just as competitive.
In the first round, AZ raised the flag with the word “blue” and got the point, but River immediately contested the result and even asked for a replay of the footage. It's giving kuya-who-hates-losing-to-his-little-sister vibe!
Determined not to let AZ keep the upper hand, River made sure to snag the point in the next round, which sent AZ letting out an excited shriek that echoed through the studio—enough for River to playfully tease her about the poor audio men who probably got startled. Always the gentle giant, River turned to the production team to check if everyone was still okay, while AZ followed up with a charming apology, though really, people in the studio just found ‘squealing AZ' hilarious.
On the third round, AZ tried to block River with her arm, but he still managed to slip his hand through and raise the correct flag just in time. To level up the thrill, the next round allowed them to shuffle each other’s flags, which AZ took full advantage of by mixing up River’s set, prompting him to take his playful revenge by sneakily hiding one of her flags in return.
AZ’s strategy worked in her favor as she bounced back in that round and the next. River said that AZ is really hard to beat, calling him a certified “task slayer” during their "PBB" days, but he was still determined to win, so he jumbled up her flags right back and managed to catch up, tying the score at three.
In the end, though, he let his duo have the win in this fun, silly challenge.
Still craving more of the AzVer magic? You can catch River in "Love at First Spike" and "The Four Bad Boys and Me" on iWant, and don't miss their reunion with their “PBB Collab” fam at the upcoming The Big ColLove fan con happening this August 10.
