Just when Kapamilya housemate Rave Victoria thought that he would only get a rosary and maroon sweater as gifts from his beloved grandma, he received one of the greatest and sweetest surprises of his life—his mom, whom he hadn’t spent many holidays with over the past years. And their tear-jerking reunion was captured on the December 28 episode of “Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0”.
Shock was painted onto the faces of Rave and his Mommy Haidee as soon as they caught sight of each other. Both of them instantly turned emotional as they embraced, with Mommy Haidee apologizing to him and telling him how much she loves him. Since Rave wasn’t used to being with her mom on Christmas Day, he asked her what made her come home, to which Mommy Haidee replied that she really did it for him.
As the “Optimistic Apo ng Tarlac” expressed regret for opening his bottled-up hurts towards her on TV, Mommy Haidee assured him that it was completely okay with her because she was in fact happy to learn about the deepest recesses of his heart. This prompted her to finally explain to him the real reason why she did the things that broke her son’s heart, which she did not have the courage to do in the past.
She confessed how embarrassed she actually is for not including him in her wedding in South Korea, which, unbeknownst to her, hurt Rave so much. According to her, she came up with that decision because she didn’t want him to see her getting married again and having her own family. She was scared that she might go back out that day since she didn’t want to cause him pain. So, this time, she vowed to make things right for him and his siblings.
“Proud na proud ako sa’yo, anak. Alam mo kung bakit? Hindi dahil sa PBB o sa kung ano man. Kasi ang bait mo, grabe. Mapagmahal ka at mabait. Hindi nga ako makapaniwala na may anak akong katulad mo eh,” she told Rave.
Mommy Haidee also expressed her regret for not being present in his life growing up and revealed that she didn’t bother to explain the situation to him back then since she didn’t want him to get affected growing up. Being an overseas Filipino worker may not be easy, but she told him that she still did it because of him and her desire to give him a better and brighter future.
She then handed him her Christmas present for him—a wide-lens camera that he’d been wishing for that he could use for his photography hobby and their next travels.
As they bade goodbye to each other, Mommy Haidee reminded him to take good care of himself and promised that she would wait for him in the outside world, whether he makes it to the Big Night or not. In return, Rave conveyed how happy he was to be with her again and to finally hear her side of the story.
During their conversation inside the confession room, Kuya expressed how glad he is to become an instrument for Rave and his mom to be reunited again and to patch things up between them. Furthermore, he’s also delighted that after everything that happened, Rave still chooses to show love to his mom. Thus, he wished for him to keep it up.
