After roughly three years since she went on a hiatus from the spotlight, Angel Locsin’s 'presence' was once again felt on television, as she made a surprise participation in a weekly task on "Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0," December 21 episode.
On the final day of the housemates' charity caroling task, they went all-out with their performances for the viewers who sent in song requests, including their very own family members who have been supporting them from the outside.
Everyone was thrilled, especially Star Magic housemate Joaquin Arce, when the names of his parents Neil and Sunshine, grandma, and stepmom Angel appeared on the plasma screen as the requestors. Angel didn’t appear on screen, but her voice was heard as she herself delivered the request.
While watching from a secret room, Joaquin’s family could be heard reacting in real time to the housemates’ performance. At one point, Angel and Joaquin’s mom, Sunshine, burst into laughter when they saw the latter’s photo being held up by Joaquin and Lella Ford during their number.
Angel also couldn’t hide her amusement when she spotted Ashley Sarmiento, who once played her younger version in "The General’s Daughter," and Miguel Vergara, who played her son in the film "One More Try."
Joaquin may not have seen his family’s faces, but just getting a glimpse of their names and knowing they were cheering him on during the task was more than enough to make him feel loved. He couldn’t hold back his tears while singing.
