Since “Defying Gravity,” the song belted out by the tandem of JM Dela Cerna and Marielle Montellano for their transformation into Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande of the musical film “Wicked,” is popular for its distinct, mind-blowing riffs, hosts Jhong Hilario and Vhong Navarro had the pair and the jury take on the “Wicked Riff Challenge.”
Since it was Elphaba’s part, JM demonstrated how it’s done, with Marielle doing it as Glinda. The hosts then passed it on to Klarisse De Guzman, who, instead of delivering her astounding rendition, amused us when she blurted out her famous “OA!” expression because of how amazing they were.
Nyoy Volante, meanwhile, exhibited his kulots that were so cold that it prompted Marielle to compare it to a ref. Sharon Cuneta and Ogie Alcasid teamed up to deliver their rendition of riffs, which was inspired by Tarzan and his gorilla friend Terk.
