Moving straight ahead with suspense and undeniably ramping up the stress for every viewer, the November 20 episode takes Erica (Kaila Estrada), Mel (Sue Ramirez), Beth (Charlie Dizon), and Alice (Janella Salvador) through more unfortunate encounters, intensifying their personal struggles and setting them on a path toward the impending return of the vengeful Edong (Jake Cuenca), despite their efforts to lead normal lives.
Mel’s fatal injury doesn’t deter Anton’s malicious intentions
Just when Mel (Sue Ramirez) thinks she can finally step outside, she is met by multiple guards who deny her exit, following Anton’s (Jameson Blake) orders. As expected, Anton appears, unfazed from his daily run, reminding Mel that the guards are merely doing their job to protect her.
Re-entering the mansion in frustration, Mel reiterates to Anton her upcoming interview with Christi Yu, who is flying in from Singapore to feature her in Women of Asia magazine. Anton reveals that he had already called Tim (Dingdong Bahan), even after Mel had asked him to rescind the schedule changes imposed by the controlling Anton.
To no avail, Mel’s chances of working beyond her abusive home are dashed, as the magazine staff are already aware of her health situation, and more of her meetings are rescheduled—prompting Anton to smirk maliciously and insist that she stay inside, enjoying his time off and wishing to relive the moments they spent together during the pandemic.
Horrified, Mel recalls the past, particularly during the enhanced community quarantine, when Anton repeatedly abused her—especially after he was denied permission to fly outside the Philippines to visit his sister in the ICU in the U.S., believing that Mel was indifferent to her condition.
At the time, despite the visible bruise on her cheek, Mel fought back, refusing to hand Anton the phone he had thrown in irritation and reprimanding him, reminding him that he was not the only one affected by the pandemic’s consequences.
Back in the present, Mel pushes Anton when he tries to grab her, finally unleashing her anger at how day in and day out he does nothing but hurt her. As she curses at him, Anton grabs her by the hair and inflicts grievous, potentially fatal wounds. Her screams are heard by the guards outside, but as she is dragged upstairs, they can only listen as the head guard forbids them from intervening.
Beth questions whether they're truly safe from Edong
Trying to maintain a sense of normalcy despite lingering fear, Beth (Charlie Dizon) engages in a playful yet caring banter with Chloe (Jewel Milag) about accompanying her to class for safety.
Once inside, Chloe speaks with Joshua (Lawrence dela Cruz), explaining that the police outside are there to protect their family. She also reveals that the man who chased them and intruded into Alice’s (Janella Salvador) home is the same person, heightening Joshua’s worry for Alice due to his small crush on her.
Chloe goes further, identifying the man as Edong Santiago (Jake Cuenca), the murderer of Louisa Soria (Mutya Orquia), whose case they had been researching days earlier. Joshua, still doubtful, wonders why the news hasn’t spread throughout Amurao, but Chloe explains that it was kept under wraps to avoid causing panic among the locals.
Still talking, Beth asks Ryan (Yves Flores) if they are doing the right thing by continuing their routines—something very different from Erica’s (Kaila Estrada) suggestion to live cautiously with Alice until Edong is arrested. Ryan reassures her, pointing out that the police are guarding them wherever they go.
Erica’s publicized message to Edong reaches Amurao
Revealing a connection to Edward (Joel Molina) and his wife, Christina, Althea (Andi Abaya)—Erica’s (Kaila Estrada) younger step-sister—tells their mother, Annette (Sharmaine Suarez), that she has been offered a job as Christina’s new caregiver and hopes to use the salary for practical goals like entering law school.
Walking at night, Annette asks Althea if she’s sure about becoming a lawyer, and Althea affirms, inspired by Erica. She then wonders if they could invite Erica over, hoping to help mend their mother-daughter bond.
Annette, hesitant and downcast, changes the subject as they stop at a nearby carinderia. On the TV, Erica’s bold statement taunting Edong (Jake Cuenca) to face her grabs their attention, reigniting the conversation.
The moment sparks a buzz in Amurao, beginning with the people at the carinderia noticing Erica and spreading to the worried and confused faces of Beth (Charlie Dizon), Alice (Janella Salvador), Mel (Sue Ramirez), Ryan (Yves Flores), and Lucas (JM de Guzman).
On a phone call with Mel, Alice is in disbelief that Erica would put herself in danger, yet she also acknowledges how much Erica has changed in the last 14 years. Mel takes the change positively, focused on reclaiming her life, quite appreciative of Erica doing the work for them.
With their conversation now focused on Mel’s condition—her body marked with fresh bruises from Anton’s beating—she emphasizes that no one is truly okay with the events unfolding.
As Alice continues questioning whether they were wrong to be part of Edong’s incarceration, Mel suppresses more tears and, through angry breaths, asserts that no woman deserves to suffer for the faults of men like Edong—and subtly, Anton too.
Meanwhile, the frantic Beth lashes out over the news about Erica, recalling their agreement that no one would do anything to incite panic. Now, she fears it is likely that Edong is even more infuriated. Attempting to calm her, Ryan suggests that Erica might be acting on her own so that Edong would target only her.
More people are stirred up by Erica’s statement, including Lucas, who receives a phone call from Steve, and Liezel (Mary Joy Apostol), whose son, Joshua (Lawrence dela Cruz), is taken aback by how involved she is with the news.
Erica pushes her vigilance to its peak
Arriving at her condo, Erica (Kaila Estrada) is on a call with Marco (Race Matias), who reminds her of the gravity of what she has done—drawing Edong’s (Jake Cuenca) attention to herself instead of letting the police handle it.
Marco asks if her former friends know about her sacrifice, but Erica reasons that she is no martyr for anyone; her priority is to stop Edong’s plans.
As she approaches her unit, she keeps a cautious eye on everyone and everything. When she opens her door, a man’s silhouette is revealed, waiting for her.
