From winning our hearts with his transformation to American singer-songwriter and record producer Charlie Puth, in the Week 3 of “Your Face Sounds Familiar,” wherein he rendered his highly successful hit “One Call Away,” BGYO’s Akira Morishita went local for the first time in Week 4 as he took on Pinoy rap legend Gloc-9.
Admitting to voice coach Klarisse de Guzman that rapping is actually his weakness, the Ace Idol still accepted the challenge and really took her instructions by heart—from the proper way of enunciating some words to make him sound like Gloc-9 to how the rap icon sings his classic song, “Sumayaw Ka”.
Meanwhile, movement coach Nyoy Volante pointed out to him that his icon is the type of rapper who always likes to get the messages of his songs across the audience. He also reminded him to keep his gestures small and simple and to take note of Gloc-9's usual mannerisms while performing.
“Movement, mas kaya. Pero ‘yong singing, doon ako kabado. At the same time, exciting kasi talagang icon na ng hip-hop si Gloc-9,” Akira related.
