Alexa Ilacad is among the Kapamilya stars whose growth as an individual and as an artist we got to witness in the nearly two decades that she has been under the spotlight.

And now that she’s already 25, she is marking this milestone through her participation in the brand new season of “Your Face Sounds Familiar” as one of its talented celebrity performers who will showcase their skills in impersonating local and international music icons.

She and her fellow celebrity performers may all be stars in their own right, but here are three reasons why we think “The Gen Z Total Performer” will absolutely excel on the show!

She started her career as a child star

Those who are able to follow the showbiz journey of Alexa would know that she started out as a child actress at a very, very young age. She initially showcased her acting skills by starring in various television commercials for huge brands, some of which continue to resonate with people who got to see them before up to the present.

And those commercial appearances of hers eventually paved the way for her to show business, with the iconic ABS-CBN kiddie gag show “Goin’ Bulilit” being her first-ever regular acting stint. Just like what it did to some of her fellow alumni, “Goin’ Bulilit” also opened a lot of doors for her in the industry, as she has become very booked and busy since then.

She is a versatile actress in TV, film, theater

In the two decades that she has been part of the industry, Alexa was able to showcase her promising acting chops not just through the TV shows and movies that she was cast in, but also in stage plays.

From portraying the younger counterparts of lead female characters, she went on to snag her first-ever lead role via the youth-oriented sitcom “Luv U” in 2011. It was followed by her significant supporting roles in teleseryes, namely, “Bagito” (2014), “Doble Kara” (2016), “The Good Son” (2018), “The Killer Bride” (2019), “Init sa Magdamag” (2021), and “Pira-Pirasong Paraiso” (2023). She was also able to showcase her dramatic prowess in several episodes of “Maalaala Mo Kaya” and “Ipaglaban Mo” that she had starred in.

She also appeared in a number of Star Cinema films, which included, “Everything About Her” (2016), “Finally Found Someone” (2017), and “Four Sisters Before the Wedding” (2020).

In 2023, Alexa also headlined the iWant original romantic comedy series “Run To Me” opposite her current loveteam partner, KD Estrada. The following year, she and KD both had their first-ever forays in theater via the award-winning musical play “Walang Aray,” in which they portrayed the leads. And in early 2025, she had a theater comeback via the original Filipino musical, “Liwanag sa Dilim.”

She is a promising host and performer

At the same time, Alexa was also able to exhibit her vocal prowess, initially as one of the members of the girl group “Tweens of Pop,” who sang the popular OST of “Luv U” titled “Crush.” She went on to launch her YouTube channel around that time, through which she uploaded not just her vlogs but also her song covers that never failed to impress and accumulate thousands of views.

The management apparently took notice of her singing talent, so they tapped her to take part in the reality music competition “We Love OPM: The Celebrity Sing-offs." Her stint on the show allowed her to further display and improve her musical prowess alongside her “Oh My Girl” groupmates Krissha Viaje and Ylona Garcia and their mentor Yeng Constantino.

Alexa went on to record a number of songs, singles, and albums, as well as had the chance to take part in the singing of a couple of ABS-CBN station ID anthems, namely, “Ikaw Ang Sunshine Ko, Isang Pamilya Tayo” (2017) and “Tayo Ang Ligaya ng Isa’t Isa” (2022).

She also surprised everyone when she joined “Pinoy Big Brother Kumunity Season 10” in 2021, through which she was not only able to show her authentic and palaban self, but her songwriting and singing skills, too. It can be recalled that she and her eventual onscreen partner, KD, would jam together a lot of times inside Bahay ni Kuya. They were able to continue that in the outside world as they composed and recorded together the soundtracks of KDLex’s first-ever series, “Run To Me.”

From being a housemate, she went on to become one of the hosts of “PBB Gen 11” and “PBB Celebrity Collab Edition,” wherein she was given the monicker “Ang Gen Z Bestie ni Kuya”.

At present, Alexa gets to exhibit her talents in hosting, singing, and dancing on “ASAP” as one of its hosts and regular performers.
