When questioned about the difference between her first “Your Face Sounds Familiar” performance as Vice Ganda and now as Cyndi Lauper, Rufa Mae Quinto shared, “Medyo kinakaya ko na, medyo nakalma ko na.”
Before focusing on the judges’ comments, she joked about the upcoming pointing system that will take place after all her fellow Ka-Familliars’ performances: “Okay lang kayo tumawa pero please naman dagdagan niyo naman [ako ng point].” With seven points overall, Rufa Mae came in last for her impression of Vice Ganda.
For mentor Klarisse’s post-performance comment, she highlighted the enjoyable aspects of Rufa Mae’s Cyndi Lauper portrayal, especially her unwavering concentration on the teleprompter for the song’s lyrics.
Klarisse also made sure to praise Rufa Mae’s improvement as compared to their last mentoring: “Nagaya niya naman,” she remarked.
To add to the compliments, mentor Nyoy conveyed, “Sobrang entertained kami. [Kahit] in all seriousness, alam ko nahirapan ka kumanta.” He also noted that he does see the resemblance, particularly with how Rufa Mae played with her skirt and dance moves.
“Ako rin eh, nagalingan ako sa sarili ko for the first time,” Rufa Mae quipped.
Megastar Sharon Cuneta, all breathless from laughing, firstly expressed how the comedy princess is everyone’s happiness and has been one of the show’s anticipated performer. “We see that you put so much effort in this… Makakarating din tayo diyan… Baka gulatin tayo, kapag nalimot niya ‘yung ‘Rufa Mae’ [style]” she explained.
Even so, when questioned if Rufa Mae has a chance of winning, she humorously stated, “Hindi naman ibig sabihin nung happiness ka sa’yo na lahat ‘di ba? Tanggapin mo na lang na ‘yun ang blessing mo,” earning a laugh even from Rufa Mae herself.
For the songwriter Ogie Alcasid, more hilarity was created: “‘Wag sasama ang loob mo. As of now, third [placer] ka,” with only three performances completed so far.
“Ang gustong-gusto ko [ay] ‘yung hindi ka hinihingal… Inaarte niya lang ‘yun kanina,” Ogie joked.
Rufa Mae replied back with the same humor: “Kasi ‘yung breathing eh. Kailangan kong aralin ‘yung breathing of singing.”
Ogie wrapped up the commentary by saying that Rufa Mae is the pride and joy of the current season of “Your Face Sounds Familiar.”
