During her mentoring session with Klarisse de Guzman and Nyoy Volante, Rufa Mae Quinto is all set to light up the stage with an electrifying rendition of “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.”
To guide the comedy bombshell, mentor Klarisse first described Cyndi Lauper’s signature vocal tone as bright, high-ranged, and compressed. Then, using “baby talk” intonations, the two playfully practice the singer’s sound.
Beyond the musical technicalities, Nyoy likened Cyndi Lauper to Rufa Mae’s carefree personality and assured her that she can move just as naturally as she already does. He does, however, specify the observable nuances of the singer: “‘Pag kumanta siya para siyang nasisilaw… Basta feel good lang.”
“Parang may freedom siya tapos wala siyang paki.
