Although he often gets himself in trouble because of his aggressiveness and vengefulness, we cannot discount the fact that there’s still something about “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” hero Tanggol (Coco Martin) that is undeniably charming and admirable. Thus, there’s no surprise that all the ladies who once became part of his life fell in love with him (remember Mokang and Bubbles?).
And now, another woman has come into his life and shown interest in him: Madonna, impressively played by beautiful and sexy actress Kim Domingo. However, avid viewers of the primetime series can surely recall that their connection actually started off on the wrong foot. In order to assess Tanggol's abilities as a new member of their syndicate, Don Facundo (Jaime Fabregas) gave her instructions to follow him around and then have him engage in an intense duel.
As Tanggol successfully passed the test and became a henchman of the Caballeros along with his friends, Tanggol and Madonna embarked on several missions together, which sparked their bond and piqued her interest in Tanggol. Let’s look back on the five scenes that might indicate Madonna is already developing feelings for him in this episode of Friday 5!
First off is that scene wherein Tanggol attended to her gunshot wound following their violent altercation with the police. That apparently dispelled her doubts on Tanggol in an instant as it was also him who saved her from the cops who nearly shot her to death.
While her loyalty was still with the Caballeros, Madonna chose to help Tanggol and his friends by setting them free after Don Facundo and his minions tortured them upon learning that it was Tanggol who was responsible for the murder of his beloved grandson, Pablo (Elijah Canlas). It can be recalled that it was also on that fateful day when the entire Caballero household was brutally slain by the Montenegros, so Madonna was able to bring them in a safer location to spare them from getting killed, too. If that was not enough proof of her fondness over Tanggol, we don’t know what will.
With the sudden, tragic demise of the Caballeros and her comrades, Madonna found herself nowhere to go. Thus, she decided to join the group of Tanggol and support his plans regarding the coveted “Star of Venus” and the illegal drug business that the Caballeros left behind.
It was not only in dangerous and work-related missions that Madonna accompanied Tanggol and his friends, but also in their benevolent deed when they went back to Quiapo to both see their families and distribute groceries and monetary aid to their neighbors there. She was obviously impressed by his unconditional love and compassion for his family and community, despite everything that they’d done to him and his friends.
Viewers did observe how Madonna's worry for Tanggol significantly grew when a new lady, Tisay (Barbie Imperial), entered his life. She was obviously upset to learn that Tisay had already taken advantage of Tanggol, and there was even a tinge of jealousy as she enumerated the few reasons why he might have been seduced by her. Afraid that Tanggol might be harmed and fall into her lair once more, she offered to be the one to haunt her down. But he declined as he wanted to stop her himself.
She advised him, “Wala ka dapat pinagkakatiwalaan sa panahon ngayon. Hindi mo makikita sa panlabas na anyo ang utak at pagkatao ng isang tao.”
And lastly, when their team came up with a strategy to capture Tisay and her carnapping crew, Madonna once again voiced her deep concern for Tanggol. She was so worried that she offered to go with Tanggol to confront Tisay, which he declined again, telling her that he could already manage on his own and that they should focus on the other aspects of their new game plan.
Is Madonna really catching feelings for Tanggol already? Well, let’s all confirm that in the coming episodes of “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,” weeknights at 8 PM, on Kapamilya channel, Kapamilya Online Live, A2Z, and TV5.
