Avid viewers of “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” and followers of Charo Santos on Instagram were indeed delighted when she brought us behind the scenes of the top-rating Kapamilya primetime series through a reel that she uploaded on the social media platform recently.
The video was shot on the day that she returned to work on the first week of November. Her first scene for the day was shot on the set of Chen Po’s Hopia in Quiapo, where her character, Tindeng, and her best friend Noy (Lou Veloso), both currently work.
According to Charo, she arrived at noon that day and greeted everyone that she missed seeing before proceeding to the dressing room, where her “forever makeup artist,” Sandy, worked on her face while she rehearsed and internalized her lines. Afterwards, she changed into Tindeng’s attire for her first scene, then walked over to the hopia shop just across the street. She was greeted by the staff and crew led by Director Darnel Villaflor, as well as by her castmates Lou Veloso and Raquel Villavicencio.

They began with the rehearsals, with Direk Darnel helping them run their lines and setting them and the cameras up for blocking. After the first shot, they retook the same scene from different angles, with Direk Darnel staying inside the director’s tent to oversee everything that’s happening on the set and every camera shot. She then went back to her dressing room to change for the next scene.
Catch Charo on “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,” weeknights at 8 PM, on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, and A2Z.
