A vibrant new direction for OPM is on the horizon as the Philippine Association of the Record Industry (PARI) laid out its plans for the upcoming years, including the launch of Awit Fest and the establishment of the Awit Museum.
During the PARI Spotlight on April 14, newly appointed PARI President Enzo Valdez, detailed a wide-ranging strategy aimed at uplifting both music creators and fans. The gathering was attended by representatives from 35 record labels along with six partner music groups, reflecting unified backing for PARI’s renewed vision.

Part of this roadmap includes the 39th Awit Awards, set to take place in September at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, which is expected to be its biggest edition yet. Another key event, the Dangal ng Musikang Pilipino Awards, is scheduled for October at the Goldenberg Mansion in Malacañang.
One of the major commitments of PARI is the newest addition to their roadmap, unveiling the launch of the Awit Fest and the construction of the Awit Museum, two major undertakings designed to both celebrate today’s OPM scene and honor its roots.
Set for January 2027, Awit Fest is envisioned as a large-scale music gathering that will showcase leading OPM acts alongside international performers, putting Filipino talent front and center on a global platform.
“This is the biggest initiative of PARI to date,” President Enzo said.
Performers from PARI-affiliated music groups are also expected to take part, strengthening ties within the local industry. The event will be mounted by Go Live Asia, promising a high-caliber concert experience.
The festival will also welcome Japanese artists through Music Awards Japan, in partnership with the Japan Culture and Entertainment Industry Promotion Association, fostering a cultural exchange between Filipino and Japanese musicians.
More than just a showcase of talent, Awit Fest carries a deeper mission. Funds raised from the event will go toward the creation of the Awit Museum, PARI’s flagship project dedicated to honoring the story of Filipino music.
“This will be the premier destination of all OPM fans. Together, this is going to be built by all the artists performing in the Awit Fest. We are doing it together,” President Enzo said.
According to PARI, the Awit Museum will feature a main gallery chronicling the history of the Awit Awards, alongside seasonal exhibits that may include artists’ memorabilia. The space will also house a venue for live performances and workshops, an Awit Store offering official merchandise, and an Awit Cafe designed as a relaxing lounge for visitors.
It will also serve as the office of PARI and its partner organizations, making it easier for artists to engage with the industry.
Envisioned as more than a traditional museum, the Awit Museum aims to function as an interactive archive of the nation’s musical journey, tracing the growth of OPM and recognizing the impact of Filipino artists across generations. It is also set to become a space that nurtures creativity, offering opportunities for aspiring musicians, songwriters, and producers through curated programs and public engagement.
By connecting Awit Fest to Awit Museum, PARI underscores its goal of not only spotlighting current talent but also preserving the heritage of Filipino music for the future.

PARI Chairman Antonio M. Ocampo also emphasized the broader vision behind these efforts.
