Melai Cantiveros recently revisited a church in Bohol that holds deep personal significance in her life and career, as it was where she once prayed before entering the Pinoy Big Brother house and ahead of the grand finals of Your Face Sounds Familiar.
On Instagram, Melai shared that she and her family attended mass at the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption in Dauis following the birthday celebration of her daughter, Stela.
"Still here in Bohol, and thank you Lord for nakaattend kmi ng mass sa church ng aming birthday novena in Our Lady Of Assumption in Dauis Bohol, what a dream come true na sa last day ng novena namin we get a chance na maka attend mass 🙏🏻 Thank you Lord Jesus Christ 🙏🏻😍❤️ And we thank God for providing this trip for our family🙏🏻," the television host posted.
The Kapamilya star then reflected on how the church has been part of two pivotal moments in her journey.
"Trivia: dtu ako nagPray bago pumasok sa Pbb na sana pasok ako kasi 3 mos na ako di binalikan ng pbb since audition kaya dtu ko pinagpray pero ang binigay ni Lord is Big Winner, dtu din ako nagpray na sana mawala kaba ko sa Big Night dn sa YFSF bilang Miley Cyrus, ang binigay is Winner ulit, grabe si Lord iba ang plan nya sa plan mu, basta lang lagi ka Lumapit at Kumapit ka sa KANYA (sic)," she said.
Melai became a housemate of Pinoy Big Brother: Double Up, where she was declared as the Big Winner in 2010.
In 2015, she joined Your Face Sounds Familiar season 1 where she also became the grand winner.

Melai is currently hosting the Bisaya web show Kuan on One, which is currently on its 4th season, streaming on ABS-CBN YouTube channel and iWantTFC.
“Dahil ito nga Bisaya nga ito and they find it na parang something special. Siguro pumatok talaga ito because gusto rin ng mga Bisaya na maheard sila dito sa national and they want to be an parang magkaroon sila na para malaman nila yung Bisaya ways, the culture at marami rin na mga Bisaya na successful na mga stars," she remarked in a previous interview as she reflected on the success of the show.
