Silent Sanctuary has released the official music video for "Una," tapping one of the country's most celebrated young actresses to bring its story to life.
Kapamilya star Xyriel Manabat stars in the video, playing a Filipino nurse working in Hong Kong.
The role puts her at the center of a narrative that countless Filipino families know all too well: the loneliness and the daily sacrifices that come with working far from home.
The video opens with Xyriel on a phone call with her family back in the Philippines. She then heads to the hospital where she works, carrying an empty balikbayan box.
From there, viewers follow her through the grind of hospital life abroad, including long shifts and emotionally taxing moments.
One of the video’s most striking scenes shows her being scolded by a doctor after he accidentally spills his coffee, after which Xyriel’s character breaks down alone in the hallway.
It is the kind of quiet, unglamorous struggle that rarely makes it into the stories told about OFWs, and the video does not look away from it.
A quiet warmth runs beneath the hardship. Early in the video, another Filipino nurse intervenes to shield her from a stranger’s harassment.
