EXCLUSIVE. One Music PH Asks: Angela Ken about her new album ‘Panahon’, some of the key tracks, trying to come up with “Ako Naman Muna” part 2, collaborating with Jan Roberts , writing “Shagidi” for BINI_ph and why she is a big Cookie Monster fan.
The Tarsier Records artist brings her new EP Panahon, to life through a busking tour around the metro. Her first two legs at SM North EDSA last May 8 and SM City Baliwag last May 12 were both rousing successes.
She is set to perform at SM City Sta. Mesa on May 14 (Thursday), SM Mall of Asia on May 15 (Friday), SM Southmall on May 18 (Monday), and SM City Fairview on May 20 (Wednesday).
Angela will sing songs from her Panahon EP that defy time, trends and seasons. It features new tracks “kahapon,” “simula ngayon” and the title track featuring upcoming singer-songwriter Jan Roberts,as well as previously-released singles “baka bukas,” “kulimlim,” and “pwede bang mamaya?” .
Angela is behind the hit songs “Sikulo,” her collab with Maki and Nhiko Sabiniano of Nameless Kids, and the viral megahit “Ako Naman Muna” (almost 75 million Spotify streams. She also joined fast-rising OPM indie band Over October for their “Moved on Last” collab released last year.
“baka bukas” has recently hit over 1.5 million streams on Spotify, while "Pwede Bang Mamaya" has hit over 1 million in less than a year since its release and "kulimlim" is close to 1.8 million streams.
