MANILA — SB19 is set to release their newest album “Wakas at Simula” on March 27, marking a milestone project that both celebrates their eight-year journey in the industry and signals a bold new direction for the P-pop supergroup.
Described by the group as a culmination of their past releases and a fresh starting point, the album features a mix of six new tracks, including the previously released “Visa,” as well as re-recorded songs with new arrangements.
Group leader Pablo shared Monday that the project is deeply rooted in reflection and growth.
“Basically, it’s a compilation of everything that we have released. Gusto namin siyang maging celebration ng milestone namin,” Pablo said. “At the same time, gusto namin sabihin kung ano yung direction na pupunta ng SB19.”

For member Justin, the album showcases the group’s evolution through experimentation across genres.
“Every time we release a new song for this trilogy, we try to introduce a new genre na hindi pa namin natatry before,” he said, describing the album as “very versatile” and “dynamic.”
This time around, SB19 expanded their creative process by collaborating with multiple producers, including international talents—marking a shift from their earlier releases, which were largely produced by Pablo.
Beyond the music, the group also highlighted the importance of understanding the business side of the industry. Member Josh Cullen encouraged aspiring artists to embrace risks and learning experiences.
“If you’re afraid of doing it, still do it. Kasi you’ll learn along the way,” he said.
Pablo added that artists must be equipped with knowledge on legalities such as publishing rights and trademarks to sustain their craft.
“If you want to fund the art that you’ve been releasing, kailangan nag-e-earn ka from that… mahalaga na alam nila yung publishing, yung trademark nila,” he explained.
As SB19 continues to grow not only as performers but also as entrepreneurs under their company 1Z Entertainment, the group emphasized trust and loyalty as key values in maintaining strong partnerships.
Looking ahead, SB19 believes they are among those helping shape the future of the local music scene.
“In the next three to five years, everything will change and we’re very glad that we’re part of it or we are the ones driving it,” Josh said.
The group also underscored the importance of unity within the P-pop industry, encouraging artists to embrace the genre as a collective identity that can elevate Filipino music globally.
“P-pop is a way to showcase what the Philippines has… it’s also a business strategy to promote our music worldwide,” Pablo said.
