K-pop star Yuna of ITZY debuted Monday as a solo artist, becoming the second member of her popular girl group to do so.

The 22-year-old artist, who serves as her group's "maknae" or youngest member, released the extended play (EP) "Ice Cream" to mark her foray into solo music.

The EP features four tracks, led by the single of the same title, alongside "B-Boy," "Blue Maze" and "Hyper Dream."

The music video for "Ice Cream" shows Yuna in a laboratory-like facility situated along the frozen edge of a landscape divided between icy and non-frozen terrain.

At a press conference earlier in the day, Yuna said she experienced growth while preparing for the release, news agency Yonhap reported.

"During the process, I realized how hard it was to fill an entire song with just my voice in a dynamic way," she was quoted as saying in the Yonhap article. "Trying to make it more colorful and expressive turned into an opportunity for me to grow."

Yuna is the second member of ITZY to officially debut as a solo artist, following leader Yeji, who released her EP "Air" in March 2025.

The artist, whose full name is Shin Yu-na, debuted in 2019 with ITZY, known for their catchy singles with themes of self-love and empowerment, including "Dalla Dalla," "Wannabe," and "Not Shy."

The group is scheduled to perform at the Mall of Asia Arena on July 11 as part of their "Tunnel Vision" tour.

Earlier this year, Yuna also made her acting debut with a special appearance in the comedy series "Undercover Miss Hong," portraying the younger sister of the protagonist played by Park Shin-hye.

She is also set to star in a drama titled "My Favorite Employee," according to Korean entertainment news website Soompi.
