MANILA — Will.I.am, Taboo and Apl de Ap, collectively known as the Black Eyed Peas, brought the house down in their jampacked concert at the Mall of Asia Arena, Wednesday night.
They opened the show with a string of their hits like “Let’s get it started”, “Boom Boom Pow” and “Rock that Body”.
During the show, BEP brought out some of their friends like J Rey Soul, who sang some of the lines of their former vocalist Fergie. J Rey used to be known as Jessica Reynoso, who joined the very first season of “The Voice of the Philippines,” where joined Team Apl de Ap.
Since then, her coach has been tagging her along in some of the gigs especially in the US.
“Ako po si J Rey Soul at ako ay taga-San Pedro, Laguna”, said the singer, and that intro made the crowd cheer for her even more.
Apl de Ap surprised the crowd when he called onstage Sandara Park to perform “2 Proud”.
Meanwhile, EZ Mil joined Apl de Ap when they rocked “Bebot” onstage, both clad in barong.
Among the celebrities spotted in the crowd were Andrea Brillantes, Ashton and Analain Salvador, Maja Salvador and husband Rambo Nunez, Barbie Imperial and Robbie Jaworski.
The Black Eyed Peas last visited Manila in 2019.
