MANILA -- Making a name for himself in the music scene, Christophe Sommereux — the son of actors Christopher Roxas and Gladys Reyes — is ready to step into the spotlight with the release of his debut music video for the song “Sine.”
“I’m absolutely excited. I’m so grateful to be here right now in this position—very humbling and very exciting,” Sommereux shared.
The track is part of his six-track self-titled EP, which includes songs both written by and for the young artist.
According to Sommereux, "Sine" is one of three songs on the EP that he wrote himself. "I’ve been doing this for quite a long time now, ever since I was 15, so to have all of it come into fruition — it’s really great,” he said.
Asked whether he feels pressured to follow in the footsteps of his celebrity parents, Sommereux was quick to express his gratitude for their unwavering support.
“I’m incredibly thankful to my parents that they never really pressured me to get into the industry,” he said. “They always tell me that they’ll support me in whatever I want to get into. I love them so much for that.”
He also credited them for nurturing his love for music from a young age. “I’m very thankful to my parents for introducing me to such great music since I was young,” Sommereux said. “Ever since then, I’ve tried to hone my skills as much as I could. I can definitely say that music is really a big part of our culture.”
The music video for “Sine” is out on the official YouTube channel of ABS-CBN Star Music, marking an exciting new chapter for the emerging singer-songwriter.
