SM Entertainment, one of the leading agencies in the K-pop industry, debuted Monday Hearts2Hearts, the latest in a line of popular and hitmaking girl groups.

The eight-member Hearts2Hearts released the single album "The Chase," led by the song of the same title and the B-side track "Butterflies."

The group's name reflects its goal to connect with fans around the world through music filled with heartfelt messages, according to a Yonhap report, citing SM.

Hearts2Hearts—composed of Carmen, Jiwoo, Yuha, Stella, Juun, A-na, Ian and Ye-on—is SM's first new girl group five years following aespa, the four-piece act known for hit songs such as "Next Level" and "Supernova."

The octet joins a line of well-loved girl groups produced by SM, including Girls' Generation, f(x) and Red Velvet.
