MANILA — Comedienne Ai Ai delas Alas is celebrating her 35th year in show business with a dose of fun and self-love, dropping her new single “Haliparot Delulu” under her music persona AADA — a song she proudly dedicates to herself.
On Wednesday, delas Alas opened ABS-CBN's noontime program "It's Showtime" performing her comeback dance-pop single after more than a decade.
"Actually 'yung last na album ko sa Star Music is AADA talaga. So kapag singer ako, 'yon ang name ko. Char-char lang 'di ba. (Kapag artista) Ai Ai delas Alas; kapag singer AADA. Bakit, pwede naman?" delas Alas said.
“Haliparot Delulu” is a "reminder to stop chasing ghosters and turns modern dating chaos into a playful empowering moment."
"Ang 'Haliparot Delulu' para sa lahat ng mga napaasa at nagising sa katotohanan. Bago 'yan, I want to dedicate this song to myself," said delas Alas, who just marked one year since her separation from her ex-husband.
The fun pop song was composed by StarPop label head Roque “Rox” Santos and ABS-CBN Music creatives, content, and operations head Jonathan Manalo, and arranged, mixed, and mastered by Theo Martel.
In Showtime's Online U, delas Alas the song is also her birthday gift to her fans. She turned a year older on Tuesday, November 11.
When asked of her birthday wish, delas Alas said: "Siguro good health sa akin at sa family ko. At sana 'yung buong Pilipinas ay maging okay na siya."
