Taylor Swift has made Spotify history anew upon the release of her new album The Life of a Showgirl on Friday, October 3.
Spotify announced that the album's lead single "The Fate of Ophelia" became the most-streamed song in a single day in Spotify history.
Fans online were quick to react to the news.
"It‘s her best song, got goosebumps," one fan commented.
"This is amazing, she deserves it so much 🧡," another fan wrote.
The Life of a Showgirl album also broke a Spotify record as it became Spotify's most-streamed album in a single day in 2025 so far on October 3.
Upon the release of the album, Taylor took to social media to pen a message to mark the occasion:
"Tonight all these lives converge here
The mosaics of laughter and cocktails of tears
Where fraternal souls sing identical things
And it’s beautiful
It’s rapturous.
It is frightening.

In an interview on the New Heights podcast in August, the global pop star relayed that the album tells the story of her life offstage.
"This album is about what was going on behind the scenes in my inner life during [the Eras] tour, which was so exuberant and electric and vibrant," she said. "It just comes from the most infectiously joyful, wild, dramatic place I was in in my life, and so that effervescence has come through on this record."
The singer shared that she created the album alongside music producers Max Martin and Shellback whom she considers her mentors.
"We've never actually made an album before where it's just the three of us. There's no other collaborators. It's just the three of us making a focused album were it felt like catching lightning in a bottle," she said. "These guys, they are just geniuses in different avenues, in different ways."
