Filipino singer Matty Juniosa secured a second Golden Buzzer during the semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent, further cementing his place as one of the standout acts this season.
During the semi-finals live show, Matty delivered a powerful rendition of "Dream On" by Aerosmith, impressing both the judges and the audience. Following his performance, judge Amanda Holden awarded him a live-show Golden Buzzer, sending him straight through to the finals.
“I said to the producers tonight, ‘If I don’t press my Golden Buzzer, what happens?’ And they said it goes to the audience. But I said, I’m not giving it to the audience,” Amanda stated before hitting the buzzer.
“You are just effortlessly sensational,” Alesha Dixon added. “That was a stellar masterclass performance of how to deliver class-A vocals.”
Judge Simon Cowell also praised Matty, saying, “That is what it’s all about. Great song. Your range is incredible. And you know what, you are the sweetest person. I’m so happy for you. Two Golden Buzzers — that's not bad, right?”
In a post-performance interview, Matty reacted to his second golden buzzer and expressed his gratitude. “Amanda, thank you so much for giving me my second Golden Buzzer. Simon’s first one, I’m so grateful enough for that. But a second one? I just got a Golden Buzzer!” he exclaimed.
Back in March, Matty first earned a Golden Buzzer from Simon during his audition, when he performed "Purple Rain" by Prince.
Speaking to ABS-CBN News after his audition, Matty reflected on his journey after his momentous audition. “How rare is this moment. I have been dreaming of it for years, since I was a child. All the hard work, all the effort that paid off and come to this moment," he remarked.
In 2022, Matty relocated to the United Kingdom to pursue his studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. While refining his craft, he supported himself by working part-time as a waiter, balancing everyday responsibilities with his artistic aspirations.
He eventually made his way into the UK theatre scene, securing roles in productions such as Oscar at the Crown and Kinky Boots. He also performed at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, appearing in shows like The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Ne Zha.
