“Our house, our neighborhood, our whole street has moved.”
JJ Abrams, he of Lost, Fringe, the Star Trek Kelvin timeline and the Star Wars sequel trilogy, is dipping his feet back into the sci-fi well with the new movie “The End of Oak Street.”
Previously titled Flowervale Street, the movie shows the Platt family living in suburbia only to discover that a cosmic event has ripped their entire neighborhood out of reality to someplace unknown.
The film’s trailer shows the family making the discovery that the street ends on what seems to be a ravine and the Platts running away from a dinosaur.
“The End of Oak Street”, directed by David Robert Mitchell (It Follows), stars Anne Hathaway, Ewan McGregor, Maisy Stella and Christian Convery. Mitchell produces alongside J.J. Abrams, Hannah Minghella, Jon Cohen, Matt Jackson and Tommy Harper.
“The End of Oak Street” opens only in cinemas and IMAX August 12.
