Before she even impersonated Rufa Mae Quinto for her "Booba" performance in the latest episode of Your Face Sounds Familiar, Alexa Ilacad shared that she has long been a fan of the comedienne.
On the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Alexa revealed that she once impersonated Rufa Mae during the camera test for the show.
"Actually, hindi po talaga ako nag-audition for YFSF. 🙈 But during our camera test, pinag sample ako ng kaya ko daw gayahin.. eh wala pa naman akong experience sa impersonation noon so nilaro ko nalang at kumanta ako ng 'Booba' because I love ate P-chi (Rufa Mae) so much! 😂" she posted.
Alexa’s "Booba" performance as Rufa Mae on Saturday, March 14, quickly went viral online.
Fans were quick to praise the performance.
"Sobrang galing mo Alexa!! Huhu. Praying for more blessings!" one fan commented online.
"Ang galing mo [Alexa]. I thought it was Rufa Mae singing when it suddenly played and I wasn't looking at the video. But when I checked, it was you. I hope you win this. You are so good and talented. Keep it up," another fan wrote.
Alexa also received praise from Rufa Mae herself.
"Alam niyo ba 25 years ago na po ang Booba. Nag-anniversary siya ngayong January. Sabi ko 25 years, tinatanggap pa rin si Booba ng mga tao, at kayong mga generation ni Alexa. Nakakatuwas kasi parang na-freshen up ako," the comedienne remarked.

The judges of the show also commended Alexa following her performance.
"11 over 10. Wala na akong masabi. There is also nothing you cannot do... Ang layo pa ng mararating mo, anak," Sharon Cuneta told Alexa.
"Thank you for that performance, sobra kaming nag-enjoy," Erik Santos said. "Wala akong nakitang mali from head to foot, pati galaw. Napakaganda mo Alexa, napakaganda rin ni Rufa Mae."
"['Yung performance mo] walang labis, walang kulang. Hindi mo siya na-overdo kaya saktong-sakto. Napakagaling mo Alexa," Eric added.
