MANILA — Actor Aljur Abrenica described working with Coco Martin on "FPJ’s Batang Quiapo" as a “blessing,” saying the experience helped him discover more about himself both personally and professionally.
"Being around him for me naging blessing siya buhay ko. Nabukas sa akin 'yung 'ano ba talaga 'yung gusto ko?' Ano ba 'yung mahal na mahal kong gawin?'" Abrenica said in an exit interview released by CCM Film Productions.
"Behind the camera, si direk Kuya Coco he's been telling me my strengths at saka 'yung weaknesses ko. Ang mga natutunan ko kay direk ay mas nakilala ko ang sarili ko. Kasi coming from him, he knows, alam niya kung ano ang gusto niya. Thank you, Kuya," Abrenica added.
In Tuesday's episode of "Batang Quiapo," Abrenica's character PLT. Hector Victorino was killed by the protagonist Tanggol (Martin) after he and his men attempted to capture Tanggol on orders of incumbent mayor Miguelito (Jake Cuenca).
Abrenica also expressed his gratitude to CCM Film Productions, noting the good memories he had.
"Sa CCM Production nagpapasalamat ako sa pag-unawa, sa pagtitiyaga sa extra mile na effort na maipalabas ko pa ang pare-parehas nating gustong gawin 'yung character ko. Salamat dahil bilang artista mas napabuti ako," Abrenica said.
"Ipinagpapasalamat ko rin yung mga good memories. Tumatawag din sila sa akin 'kumusta ka? Anak mo, napuntahan mo ba?' Totoo po 'yan, sinisiguro nila na maayos ang kalagayan ko," he added.
Abrenica's stint in "Batang Quiapo" marks the second time that he and Martin worked together.
"Kapag nakakatrabaho kayo laging may milestone na pagbabago lalo na sa pagiging artista, hindi lang sa pagiging artista kung hindi sa personal na bagay pa. Naniniwala ako na you deserve all the blessings na napupunta sa inyo," says Abrenica.
