Korean actor Ahn Hyo-seop, the voice actor behind Jinu of the hit Netflix animated movie KPop Demon Hunters, reflected on why the film resonated with audiences across the world.

"I think because it's very honest. It's about accepting who you are. It's also about facing the ones inside of us. Everyone makes mistakes and everyone got someting that they wish they can undo or hide. And sometimes our biggest obstacle isn't the world, it's ourselves," he remarked in an interview with The Daily Report of CBS News.

The actor added that the film's main characters go through journeys that many people can relate to. "Jinu and Rumi, the main characters, face that and instead of running, they grow. I feel like that's something that a lot of people can relate to," he remarked.

On what it means for him to see Korean culture being embraced on such a global scale, Hyo-seop replied:  "It's very surreal. It's really amazing. I mean, when I was younger, I've never imagined Korean culture to be embraced on such a global scale. To see people around the world singing the words in Korean, learning the language, or being inspired by our films and dramas, it makes me really, really proud."

He went on: "But more than that it just shows that stories and music can cross borders can connect us in ways that are really powerful."

With fans hopeful for a sequel, Hyo-seop also expressed his excitement for where the story could head next.

"I don't have too much information but what excites me is that all these characters they are just beginning their journey. They faced challenges but there's still a lot of room to grow, so I'd love to see how their bonds deepen and how their music continues to be a weapon of hope. And personally, I just wish to see Jinu again. Please give me my soul back," he stated.

On August 27, Netflix announced that KPop Demon Hunters had become the most popular Netflix film of all time, amassing over 236 million views to date.

According to an August report by Variety, Netflix and Sony were in early talks to develop a sequel to the hit animated film.
